I completed three modules with DBT London after previously doing group-only DBT with Mind Reframed. Based on my experience with both services, I would say the therapists at Mind Reframed felt significantly more experienced, trauma-informed, and attuned to the needs of clients. At DBT London, unfortunately, I had a negative experience with one of the male therapists, whose behavior at times appeared unprofessional particularly due to what seemed like underlying anger issues. This was quite shocking in a therapeutic setting and, to my disappointment. Although I raised this with the director who acknowledged my concerns I never received an apology which impacted my trust in the service. In comparison, Mind Reframed offered a more consistent and emotionally safe environment. Their therapists seemed better trained in handling complex emotional issues with compassion and skill. While everyone’s experience may vary, for those seeking DBT with a strong trauma-informed approach and a more experienced therapeutic team, I would personally recommend Mind Reframed over DBT London. Response 08/08/2025 Thank you for your clarification regarding the DBT model. I would like to note that I am already familiar with DBT and its structure. However, I did not mention trauma processing—I referred to trauma-informed care, which is something entirely different. Just to clarify: trauma-informed care is an approach that recognises the impact of trauma and prioritises safety, trust, and empowerment. It does not involve processing trauma directly, but instead focuses on creating an environment that avoids retraumatisation and respects the individual’s lived experiences. I raised concerns a few months into therapy with my then-therapist, due to her approach. I made a genuine effort to work through it and was fully willing to continue with the DBT programme—particularly as I had already completed three modules. I wanted to make it work. Unfortunately, the responses I’ve received from DBT London as a whole have not been positive. This latest reply is especially disappointing and concerning. It misrepresents both my intentions and what actually happened. Rather than demonstrating care, reflection, or accountability—things that were discussed in our meeting—this response shows none of that. There appears to be no reflection, no accountability, and no person-centred care in your reply—despite these values being acknowledged and supposedly upheld. It’s now clear to me that those assurances were not sincere. I came to you seeking understanding, safety, and some form of resolution. All I wanted was a simple apology—not "I'm sorry you feel that way", but a genuine "we got it wrong." Instead, as your reply to my review demonstrates, there is simply more defensiveness. I had originally thought that it was only the therapists I had worked with who were defensive—but it’s clear now that this extends to the director as well. For the sake of the people who turn to you for support—especially given how much you charge—I sincerely hope you do better, and be better. Especially if its marginalised people and minorities.

Review for: Julie burg Treatment: Private sessions, DBT Approach, Online I've been seeing Ms. Burg for several months now and have nothing but wonderful comments to make. Ms. Burg is a very attentive, caring and exceptionally knowledgable therapist. I highly recommend her services to other ethnically/racially marginalized women, who've experienced trauma due to relationships, self-worth and childhood development.

Having DBT with DBT London has been one of the best decisions and investment I’ve ever made in my life. The team is so compassionate when helping and truly understand BPD sufferers - never once judging for the way you think but rather guiding you to start challenging your beliefs and develop a healthier outlook on life. The course is structured very professionally with homework and mindfulness exercises each week alongside feedback for our homework where we the group shares their experiences and we learn from each other what to do and what not to do. It is not an easy course by any means but DBT London try their very best to help you get the most out of it and those who put in the most effort will soon start to be on the path of recovery.

DBT therapy gave a life back, now I’m ready to confront anything that can be stressful. I just need to use the skills learnt. Tom and Jason are really well trained in this field and are always there when in a crisis. My group was amazing, people who struggle with the same problems but different as well. The buddy system that they have in case of crisis is extremely helpful. Overall, DBT is a life saver and has giving me hope. I’m living a meaningful life now.

The DBT course was amazing and worth every single penny! I've gained many valuable skills that I can implement everyday to help keep me on the straight and narrow. The course providers were superb! They are friendly, knowledgeable and very encouraging. I highly recommend DBT London.

I have had so many years struggling with my anxiety and have seen a few professionals over the years but my time I have spent with Jason has really helped me become so much more confident in myself and I can't thank him enough for taking the time to understand my issues and giving me the best tools that will stay with me and help me to continue to grow and become a stronger woman. Thank you Jason.

I was feeling insecure, anxious and depressed. I have joined the DBT sessions. I found it so helpful and effective. Before DBT, l wasn’t aware of the skills. Jason and Jurenda are such amazing people with their knowledge and positivity. They were so supportive. They taught me the skills and motivated me a lot to use the skills. Gradually l felt l improved myself quite a lot and definitely l feel much better now than before. It also improved my self confidence. I am more aware of myself now than before. I learnt to be in wise mind rather than being too emotional or too rational. I want to thank Jason and Jurenda for their good work, support and kindness.

I've been working on my DBT skills with Jason for the past 9 months. In that time I have learnt enough repair damaged relationships with family, to begin to curb my unhealthy 'problem behaviours' and to start to build back up my self esteem and work on treating myself with kindness and compassion. I would thoroughly recommend DBT therapy, I think we all have a lot to learn from it. Without it and without Jason I wouldn't be where I am right now - I'm very grateful.
