There was some waiting time before I could get my assessment call, where options for my treatment were discussed. I was given a choice between group therapy or automated cognitive behavioral therapy through an app. I did the automated CBT and it was helpful when having mild anxiety. I had checkins with the therapist at the beginning and the end of the CBT, and she left me reviews on a weekly basis tracking my progress on the app. All the staff was kind and helpful. I'd just recommend to people with more severe anxiety try to get individual therapy or group therapy instead of digital therapy, since it lacks a human component.

I have been using Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies services for the last couple months - following SilverCloud Online programme. I was firstly told it could take a while to get video/1-1 appointments but for my surprise the services got in touch with me way earlier that expected. The journey has been very organised from the beginning - from a first assessment call to pick up a weekly time that would work for me. Starting this journey after experiencing an extensive online module - I did not have much expectations. However, I am so grateful I could use their services - as it turned out to be just the help that I needed at that particular time. My therapist Fotini has checked in with me weekly, created and agenda for the sessions and given me not only tasks from one session to another but also the space to be myself. The space to be all the versions of myself. I have learned so much over the past couple months - on what works and doesn't work for me, how to identify my triggers, how to break negative patterns and how to accept that sometimes things won't go as expected and thats ok. I have done group therapy in the past via other service (which did not particularly enjoy) and I have to say that this experience was so much better in every single sense. I would like to thank Fotini for her professionalism, care & structure of the sessions - you made me change my perspective on therapy and you have truly helped me so much. I would rate 10 stars if I could. Thanks Tower Hamlets Talking Therapies !

I’m happy to report that my experience with my Therapist Amerjit Mann was a positive one. I needed some emotional support and thats exactly what was offered to me, despite not being an appropriate time for me to have my treatment due to my current situation. Regardless I wasn't abandoned, I was heard, there was lots of compassion and my therapist was honest with me. In my experience thats pretty much the best you could hope for. I too gave my therapist a chance and he did not let me down. Thanks

If I could give 0 I would, it’s absolutely useless. The whole process and system is robotic and careless. It’s just a tick list response and then you’re discharged back to your GP, no matter how lost or low you may be. My “physiological wellbeing practitioner” was Tas Begum.

Very unprofessional and untruthful staff. It's been reported by therapist that appointment was missed due to me missing two calls from them. However, this was not true as there was only one attempt to call and later that the appointment time. I could not speak to therapist as the phone rang once. I called the receptionist straight away and I was advised that nothing can be done besides waiting for next available appointments which are in three weeks time. This left me very upset as I could have spoken to therapist within that same hour but instead I was fobbed off with lies. I don't trust this practice and won't advise my family or friends to use them. If you have the possibility, go private or in another area.

I was referred to Talking Therapies during the peak of the Pandemic in 2020. I had a phone appointment as face to face appointments were not available. I received a letter stating that I will be put on the waiting list. However, I am still waiting for an appointment. I was told someone tried to contact me for a face to face appointment but this is untrue. I left voice messages but nobody has got back to me. Nobody seems to answer their phone. I even visited their office yesterday and it was closed. As others have mentioned their admin system is terrible and referral- follow up appointment system is shambles. I sent them an email today and requested an appointment once again. Also requested information for their complaints department.

I was sceptical about talking therapy at first but I found talking about it and receiving an unbiased feedback really helped to channel my thoughts. The material and activities given to me helped me to realise the positives and the progress I was making. Advice on different ways of communicating is equally important in improving my life with a small family and juggling full time work. It helps if you have time for therapy when the time is right.

Kiran was an incredible help to me, helping me to realise the issues and the problems I have suffered with, whilst also providing tools and methods to use in my day to day life. I threw myself into the therapy headfirst and took on board everything that we spoke about. In every session I had a ‘lightbulb moment’, where I would understand something about myself and be able to recognise how to help overcome it. It’s been a life changing 10 weeks and I can’t hold Kiran in any higher regard. He has helped me no end, and I believe that although it hasn’t always been easy, my life has improved ten fold. I look forward to loving my life using these tools that were provided and know that I am still on a journey, but my path seems to be much easier to navigate now. I would like to thank Kiran and talking therapies for all the help I have received so far and I couldn’t recommend CBT more.

Tower Hamlets Talking Therapy guided me through the darkest time of my life after I tragically lost my teenage son in a traumatic accident. My anxiety level was really high and I had little expectation of getting better. Well, I was wrong: It was super helpful. I will always be grateful to my amazing therapist Piya Datta and her team, they are true lifesavers. I didn’t mind the initial waiting time - after all, it’s a great and free NHS service and resources are limited. At times, trauma therapy sessions were tough and distressing as I was confronted with my worst memories but I was always guided and informed on what to expect and there was always healing and peace at the end. I am also extremely thankful for the tools and techniques provided to overcome the challenges of life and to better come to terms with my grief. During the last sessions I was also referred to the clinic’s ‘Mind’ employment advice team who provided a fabulous support and even advised on career changes. Thank you so much to Piya and her team, Tower Hamlets Talking Therapy and to the NHS.

I was referred by my GP and had the appointment set fairly quickly (about two weeks). On the day of the appointment I got a message few hours prior the said appointment that it was cancelled with no further explanation? I was automatically rebooked for few days later, which was in the middle of my work day. I messaged them to asked what happened and if I can choose the day and the hour of my meeting and was told that the therapist was ill and sent the booking portal link. For the actual assessment I spoke to the assistant therapist and was told they'll get back to me within 2 weeks time. After about a week I got a phonecall when I was promised several links for referrals and further help. That was a week ago and no message in any form and shape has arrived. I tried to give them a call every day, but after tens of phonecalls it all seems like a bad joke. There is no wait in the phone queue and after 2 mins it announces the line is busy and goodbye. I also sent several emails and got an automated response that the email was sent to appropriate places. The thing is that the mental health is a very sensitive topic. For some people is very difficult to even attempt to ask for help and it does not help to be having to deal with the issues you can read here in the reviews, which after my experience are true.
