   BIMM is great actually. Best campus, new studio spaces, rehearsal rooms and equipment. The lecturers are very supportive and helpful but more importantly they are working musicians themselves. They have modules for everything that you would wanna learn regarding the music industry. Student life is also pretty good, you get to meet people from all kinds of backgrounds and people who want to work in every part of the industry. The only thing is, they don't have student dorms which honestly doesn't bother me that much.

   BIMM is amazing! The lecturers are so nice and knowledgeable on their subjects and depending on the course you’re taking, they can give you one on one help to improve anything you struggle with which doesn’t just need to include course related music. You get to meet a ton of new students in your year and BIMM offers a lot of social clubs on a variety of different things like pool society, neurodivergent society, football society etc.. BIMM Bristol has a lot of rehearsal and recording places you can use for free if you book them out and they can save a lot of time in your practise or recording process. You can also bring some non-BIMM students if they are a part of your band to come rehearse in the campus. They also offer a lot of mental health resources and help when it comes to stress or financial issues. There are open days and audition days that can give you the full experience of BIMM.

   BIMM gave me so much in terms of teaching, experience and community. They care about the students and their opinions and just their general comfort. BIMM has a lot of clubs and societies as well where you can do a lot of things outside of music like sports, art, gaming etc. BIMM puts a lot of emphasis and attention on mental health as well with programs and experts that are available to support you.

   My Honest Review of BIMM Institute Bristol By Levi Fox – Music and Sound Production Student When I first applied to BIMM, I was excited and full of hope. I came from a very hard background and have been fighting for years to rebuild my life and find success through music. During my audition process, things were not made clear to me, especially considering I already had a tutor’s recommendation. The whole process felt confusing and stressful, and as someone who has fought so hard just to reach this level, that lack of clarity really affected me. Since joining the university, I have to say that the campus and the facilities are incredible. The studios are beautiful, the speakers and sound systems are powerful, and the creative spaces are inspiring. It is a privilege to be surrounded by that kind of professional equipment and environment. However, my personal experience has felt quite disconnected. I am a rapper and a vocalist who came here to perform, but the university culture seems mainly focused on bands, drummers, guitarists, and traditional singers. There does not seem to be much active support for rap artists or people from my kind of background. I came to BIMM hoping to learn how to perform on stage, collaborate with others, and build myself as an artist, but I often feel like I am standing on the outside looking in. Although I have been pushing forward with my own production work and trying to stay focused, I have not yet received the level of engagement or industry support that I had hoped for. The lack of video editing software has also been a real setback for me, because it limits what I can create and how I can visually present my music. I want to make it clear that I love BIMM University. The place itself is amazing and filled with potential. I just wish there were more opportunities, encouragement, and support for rappers and hip hop artists, especially those of us who come from difficult lives but want to use music as a way to grow, heal, and inspire others. I am still hopeful that as I progress through my course, things will improve and I will find my place here. I am proud to be at BIMM and I truly want to succeed. I believe that with more inclusivity and better communication, BIMM can help artists like me reach their full potential.    During my time at BIMM Bristol I found my overall experience disappointing, which ultimately led me to transfer campuses. • Teaching and marking were inconsistent. On one occasion a tutor failed to watch the full video I submitted for assessment, missing the Harvard references I had included at the end. Feedback often felt careless or incomplete. • Access to resources was very poor. Booking studios for coursework was almost impossible due to constant double bookings and lack of availability. This made completing practical projects unnecessarily stressful. • Student life felt flat. Even when running a society myself, I found very little sense of community. People seemed unmotivated and not particularly outgoing, which made the environment uninspiring. • The security staff were unpleasant and unhelpful, which added to the sense that the campus was poorly managed and not student-centred. Overall, the combination of weak teaching, poor resource management, disengaged student culture, and unprofessional security meant that my time at BIMM Bristol fell far short of expectations. This was the key reason I decided to change campuses.
