I have been trying to swim front crawl for around 18 months to two years. I swam two half ironman events swimming breast stroke as I could not make a breakthrough with front crawl. In two lessons John has broken the stroke down and paradoxically simplified what I am doing. I used to HATE trying to swim front crawl but now I am really enjoying swimming and for the first time look forward to my pool sessions. This is thanks to John's thorough but relaxed approach to his coaching. Based on my experience I would definitely recommend John as a swimming coach.

John was recommended to me and was super helpful! We had an initial chat and then arrange a pool session, he was super flexible so it was easy to fit around work/life! The session was really useful, John kept things simple and made what he was explaining easy to understand! He took 30 seconds/100m off my time in 1 session, I left it late in my training so didn’t have time for further sessions but have no doubt I could’ve taken more time off! Ultimately it helped me get to a point where I could swim full IM distance within the time cut, which I definitely wouldn’t haven’t done before!

I took a gamble on doing some random research on line and stumbled across John and Tri Coaching. Responses to queries in advance of the meeting were fast. I've been having persistent disc and nerve issues with my back for months and i was told by doctors to stop running, golf, heavy lifting etc but i felt my body could do it. I went to see John to look at my posture/running and walking style.....literally within 20 minutes he diagnosed the issue, created a solution and a mini programme for me to stick to. Last night i did my first run since April and shaved off 20 second per my whilst having a better cadence, and a much lower heart rate because the run was effortless thanks to Johns changes. Better yet, i have no back pain and went to play golf today! This is no coincidence, i feel completely different where the loading has gone from my back to my core and I've not felt so happy in such a long time. THANK YOU SO MUCH JOHN. I would really recommend John as a friendly and approachable coach. I was apprehensive training for my first triathlon, particularly fitting sessions around working full time and other hobbies. John was amazing at creating a training plan that stretched me but also took into consideration my other time commitments. He also took time to answer questions and prepare me for the logistics of the race. As a result I really enjoyed the training and the race!

It has been really good for my son to have had some 1-1 sessions with John again. We first met John 4 years ago when our son had some sessions with him when he was 11.John helped him with stroke technique and his approach to his coaching was so good and made him feel very comfortable, so much so that he has wanted to see him again. It’s been a good experience for him and John has given him lots of positive feedback and things to work on to help make things easier for him in the water. We are very happy with how John has worked with him and shown a great deal of care and attention and hope to revisit him again in the near future.
