I have been enjoying the food at my favourite curry house, “essence of India” since they very first opened in Marton, circa 2005. Their new location in Grandborough is lovely. We’ve also had many works doo’s there of which have been incredible. Great food, great atmosphere and Muj is entertaining as ever. The best Jalfrezi money can buy.

One of the best Indian Restaurants I have ever been too. The food is incredible and the variety to choose from is amazing. The service is always fantastic and the Essence has quickly become a family favourite for us! Muj by himself is worth the trip, he is charming and engaging and takes impeccable care of you throughout dinner. Would recommend to anyone
We spotted this absolutely wonderful place on the road back to Coventry. The food and service really was fantastic and Muj the head waiter and his brothers were all welcoming, enthusiastic and took great pride in their business. Highly recommended if you like good food.
First impressions you may think this place isn't particularly impressive and somewhat dowdy. But the food here is always fragrant, fresh & quite outstanding. Staff are also exceptionally friendly & attentive. Amazing range of dishes with fast & efficient service. Restaurant area is quite large and can cater for lots of guests without appearing rammed. Plenty of spacious parking outside. Pub/bar on site too... but always seems to be dead whenever we visit. Suspect locals may go drinking elsewhere!? Nevertheless, probably the best Indian restaurant for miles around!?
Had a take away so can't really rate the atmosphere. Food was good though, good portions and tasty. Will definitely be back.
Came here for a meal whilst staying locally for a work course, the staff were amazing and were attentive. The food was beautiful and we had a great selection of rice and naan which was nice. Just a shame the place wasn’t busier! If I lived local I’d definitely be back
Balti was 'nice' but tastes a little like it came out of the microwave .... 18mins from order to door .... Some might say that's great but the driver said he did Marton to Southam in 5 mins which is worrying.... I will use again but hoping the balti will have more flavour next time.
