   I contacted Richard back in the summer to book a table for a christmas family reunion on the 13th Dec. He was always responsive and accomodating to my request (which changed regularly due to illness, pre-order changes and whatnot!). The pub is in an idyllic spot - nicely presented and we received a warm welcome. The selection of ale, lager and cider was good along with soft drinks. We didn't go for the wine as it was unclear what they had on offer.* Our food came out, three sharing boards that were excellent quality and perfect for the 7 of us. The arrived and were exceptionally good all round. I had the duck cassoulet that was divine but I couldnt eat all of it! We rounded off with a couple of possets and some coffee - the frother wasnt working but we were very happy with americanos. The service was exceptional - the person who served us was attentive and took our picture without us even having to ask! All in all it was a great meal out and I couldnt fault the food or presentation. *The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the wine selection. With food that good it would have been nice to have a wine list to go with it! :) Thank you everyone at the pub including the lovely locals for welcoming us x

   September 2025 Update So disappointed. I took a guest for dinner tonight for the "pie and a glass of wine" offer. It wasn't good. 1. My guest enjoyed his chicken, bacon and leek pie, although he mentioned that the mash was lukewarm. 2. I ordered the steak and red wine pie, it was very hot which was good however there wasn't much content to the pie. 3. The vegetables (mash and cabbage) were close to cold. I asked for them to be reheated which they did. Strangely not even warm. As I was with a guest, plus I wasn't asked if it's ok, I didn't bother to try again. 4. The red house wine was the only one offered and it wasn't to my liking. I believe previously we were offered any wine available by the glass. 5. The original waitress kept away from the table after I requested the food to be reheated.bThen they added a service charge to the bill. Basically it seems to have gone downhill and I shan't be returning. ----------------------- We decided to have Sunday lunch at the Red Lion at Hunningham this weekend. Situated in the countryside near a narrow bridge with a lovely stream. Sadly it was pouring down with rain and very windy. The interior was lovely and warm, cosy and bright. The styling is wonderful and the separate areas allow you to choose what suits you best. The middle area had a TV screen (sadly I dislike TVs when Im out eating). We were seated in the side area which was better for us. I had a few issues with the glasses of red wine but the staff were helpful and professional and I enjoyed the final glass thankfully. My friend enjoyed her white pinot grigio wine. We ordered the chicken and the beef. WOW what a lovely plate full of food. Must have been my unlucky day mine was tepid on arrival. Again the staff were helpful and professional and the issue was swiftly resolved. The food was lovely. Strangely I really enjoyed the way they cooked the cabbage. It gave it a really great flavour and texture. The roast potatoes and parsnip were crunchy and tasty. Honestly we normally go to the Stag at Offchurch (no longer running) this was better. Only improvement in my opinion is the gravy. However I could have upgraded, for a price, to the red wine jus. Great interior, staff, wine and food. Looking forward to returning

   Since we have loved here this place has been through a few incarnations but the food and service we received when we went there this weekend was by far the best and one of the most well accomplished Sunday lunches we have had - everyone finished their massive portions (see pictures) The key lime pie was the only odd thing - the strawberry almost completely covered the lime taste but the pie was good without it. 100% recommend

   Lovely pub, nice menu, brilliant service. Lovely atmosphere & plenty of room between tables there were 8 of us & for main, pudding & drinks it worked out about £63 per couple, car park is a good size, but part was flooded, definitely would go again.

   Nice place, food was good, but not great. Was there to eat midweek in the evening. Not many people, staff friendly but felt a bit false. Told they were closing at about 10pm and asked to finish our drink. Probably all normal but just felt a bit downbeat overall and wouldn't rush to go back.

   First time visit and I was very impressed. Waiting staff were polite and friendly, also attentive without being annoying. The food was excellent. The best meal I've had for a long while, it was absolutely delicious. Surroundings were lovely too, very tastefully decorated and nice and warm. Will definitely do a return visit and recommend to family and friends.

   Traditional country pub with lovely natural surroundings. The service was great, and the fish and chips was delicious. It was very quiet and cosy when I visited. It has a romantic and bohemian vibe while also being great for pints at the bar or outdoors.

   Greeted by a miserable French man. Said fully booked. Lady ran after us. Said we could sit outside. So had a drink, food to come. Won't be coming again.
