  1. Secret food review club Coventry ★★★★★

Well, i had to visit this place after it's refurbi, I can honestly say this is the place to be in Coventry the refurbi quality, absolutely fantastic. More seating area for people wishing to have the food more open plan. Very inviting. This pub seems to be going from strength to strength. Live bands, good music, fantastic décor just what people need in these hard times somewhere to relax and let their hair down And have a drink, listen to good music. The staff are all polite. The atmosphere is fantastic hope to visit this pub more often

We were in the area, so book a meal here. The lady serving me was pleasant and helped me as I had a gift card. The food itself was lovely, no complaints. The service and timing were a bit all over. The mac and cheese starter came out after the main meal even though it was stated it was to come out before as a starter. My drink was forgotten about so I had to go and ask. The meal came out, and half was missing from two meals, so I had to ask. Then we had to ask for our puddings as we waited for ages and they didn't come so had to go to the bar. The whole time, no one came up to us to see if everything was OK like you would normally get in a restaurant. In the time we were there, two chefs were in and out of the bar area, which was a bit strange. Overall, food was tasty, but service and organisation let it down a lot.

Compared to the Bulls Head we visited in Peak District, this one has a lot of room for improvement. We tried the same dishes from both places and this one was very average. The drinks were good. There is a lot of parking space and there is enough seating once you’re inside. The staff is nice and friendly. It wasn’t too crowded during our visit in the weekend lunch time.

I ordered the loaded surf and turf. My order was presented to me in about 20 minutes and the steak was quite succulent. Its not my usual eatery or even my local but if this is the standard I will be retruning again soon.

8 of us went for a family mealBurn Mac & Cheese but cold in the middle, prawns on my surf and turf small rubbery stake over cooked not medium chips tasteless, the kids pasta meals were over cooked. The staff just did not seem to care and very rude. My first vist here for a couple years and my last. If thinking of eating here just travel a bit up the road to the Millpool or even the Toby Carvery

Lovely staff. Very helpful when complained that my plate of food looked a lot smaller than my daughter's who had ordered a similar sizzler - brought out extra chillis etc Food could've been better, but it was extremely busy. Table was not wiped down even though staff member said they would be over to do it asap. Overall though, had a great visit and it had a good family friendly atmosphere.
