I came here a year ago and the location, food and service were dream worthy. I have returned today and everything is better than I remember. The fragrance and tone of the food is on point. The staff, amazing and the location, old world nostalgia. Thank you

Yesterday evening I visited Turmeric Gold in Coventry and was extremely disappointed. I have lactose intolerance and made sure to tell the staff about it. We had to order our starter and main course together. I ordered the Chicken Dynamite as a starter. When it arrived, it tasted strongly of butter. I told the waiter, saying it tasted like butter—and even asked him to taste it himself. He said it might be plant-based butter, but after checking with the chef, they confirmed that no butter was used. Despite this, the food still tasted like butter. I only managed to eat 2-3 bites of the starter, and my boyfriend, who is also lactose intolerant, ate a little but then we both decided not to continue. For our main course, I had the 2 Way Jalpiazi Chicken Masala (vegetarian option with mushrooms) along with the Roaring Tiger House Special Biryani and roti. The mushroom dish also had a buttery taste, though not as strong. After the meal, both my boyfriend and I experienced stomach pain, nausea, and loose motions. We paid over £140 for this meal, and it was a very poor experience. On their website, they claim that don’t accept any dish that isn’t up to your expectations, yet they did nothing to change or replace our food. I was left very disappointed.

Service was good; ambience was excellent but I personally didn’t enjoy the food that much. I’ve had better curries at half the price. However, for a romantic setting, it’s one of the best in Coventry.

I would say this is one of the most fabulous Indian Curry restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at. Service was polite and timely with food coming out at the appropriate time. Delicious food with little extras along the way. Atmosphere is cosy and pretty. I would travel to come here again.

What a brilliant evening! It was a special occasion for us and the staff paid attention to every detail. From confetti at the table to a sweet treat at the end we had a brilliant Maharashtra experience and would highly recommend.

Evening out for three. Decor is a little ornate for my tastes, and given that the restaurant is in (what looks like a historic) building, spaces are narrow and relatively confined. The online menu (website) clearly states that the minimum order is one mains per adult. Service was friendly and prompt throughout. The servings for mains was quite large and predominantly meat-based, so those with other culinary requirements may need to scrutinize the menu in greater detail. We mainly chose dishes with a Northern Indian slant (creamy and non-spicy), which we enjoyed substantially. Of note, the duck starter was exquisitely tender, and the chicken korma as well. We can't vouch as to "authenticity" to food in India, but enjoyed our evening. Prices are mid-to high.

It was close to 10pm in Coventry, and I was desperate for a nice meal after an exhausting hour at a nearby gym. I noticed the well- lit facade and went. The ambiance was very colourful and exotic, and the polite waiter ushered me into comfy cubicle there being only one other customer. With all the plush decor I was expecting a pricey meal, but it was very economical I had a poppadom with the usual dips, then a most unusual poached " Vietnamese cod" ( so he said) in a really tasty, but chili-free, tomato- based sauce. Steamed rice was on the side . Very delicious, the fish not over-cooked( see photo). If I'd had time I would have sampled their wines and side dishes, but I couldn't linger. It was a charming and friendly environment, with a touch of Aladdin and the Forty Thieves in the design! I would certainly go back, particularly if not in a rush. Not your average Asian eatery!

Best Indian Restaurant in Coventry! The food was sensational, I could not fault it. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was simply beautiful. The waiters were excellent throughout, explaining the contents of the dish and giving advise when asked upon. The complimentary amuse-bouche was also a lovely suprise and tasted great. All the main courses were fantastic. I would highly recommend going. I will most certainly be returning.
