We were on a long journey and we wanted to stop halfway for sunday lunch. We found this pub through Google Maps. We had a good quality sunday lunch in attractive and warm surroundings. What impressed us most was the quality of service. The pub was busy but we were quickly found a table and the service was very timely and friendly. All the serving staff were working well as a team. The surroundings were attractive with good views accross countryside and a canal from the back of the pub.

Even though, It was my first time at this eloquent establishment, I enjoyed it very much the local beer, Harry's heffer of which I would gladly drink again and I would easily come back here again, the view's from the terrace outside, were great and relaxing and hopefully when the weather is amenable, I will gladly come back here in the summertime and sit in the beautiful beer garden.

Had one of the best steaks I've had in a long time at the Hatton Arms. The Gloucester 28-day aged ribeye was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The chips were excellent, twice cooked, golden brown and crunchy. It came with mushrooms and a tomato, and the peppercorn sauce was served in a huge gravy boat. It was very tasty and complemented the steak well. A very good meal. Thank you.

Overall, a little disappointed by the Sunday roast. Nice setting, pleasant ambience and reasonable roast platters, but had to ask several times for the sauces and the round table we had was too small for all the dishes. What really annoyed everyone was the ‘ discretionary’ 10% service charge that was automatically added without asking. This is applied whether you like it or not after VAT meaning that it is effectively a standard 12% extra fee. This leaves customers with a moral dilemma of having to ask for its removal. Thanks but no thanks!

Great dog friendly restaurant, with warm and welcoming vibes, and great service. The food also came out within 30 minutes despite having the restaurant packed with people. The food is delicious and nicely plated. I’ve tried the mariner fish pie, and the mash on top is buttery, while the filling tastes like good quality seafood. The fish and chips are crispy and light, not oily at all. The portions are generous, but the price is slightly high.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Had a family meal and me and my dad had the sharer Sunday roast, couldn't finish it! My partner is gluten free and vegan and they had good choices and we're very accommodating.

A lovely place with friendly staff. I’ve been here a number of times now and have enjoyed every visit. The food is really nice although the Caesar salad had a bit too much dressing - but I guess that’s just personal preference. Would recommend. They also have a really nice decking/balcony area outside along with an outdoor bar which is cool.

Great place to have something nice to eat and relax. The fantastic countryside surroundings including the locks, make for a lovely picturesque view as your enjoying the wonderful food. Staff are also amazing and accommodating as we turned up 30 minutes before we booked.

Popped in off the cuff today as we were driving past. Warm, friendly welcome and attentive staff in a very well maintained and furnished pub. Lovely view across the river from outside. I can only say outstanding food. I had the duo lamb which was exceptional and a very good price for the quality. You must try
