A lovely restaurant. It is not your run of the mill Indian food as it is focused mainly on the Kerala region. Lots of exciting new things to try and enjoy. Great service from the knowledge and helpful staff. Highly recommended.
We seated straight away and given the menu but after about ten minutes we had to find someone to take our order. The waiter was very apologetic and we both ordered the business lunch which was a thali with a dosa. My husband had the meat (chicken) version and I had vegetarian version. It consisted of rice with three main bowls and two sauces with a dosa. Everything tasted amazing was great value at £6.95 each. We both had mango lassi and the total bill was under £22. The style of cooking is Keralan, from the south of India and is well worth trying. The decor is quite eclectic and features a motorbike as a room divider! Well worth a visit.
Really really tasty Southern Indian food. It felt very true to food you experience in india, authentic. Everything was hot and fresh. Service was very attentive. Would definitely recommend
Delicious and unusual Indian restaurant! The staff were really helpful when choosing dishes that we were unfamiliar with and really friendly. It is decorated beautifully, really transports you. I wished we lived locally!
A South Indian restaurant. Overall, it features curries,fried and grilled dishes. The various curries are very flavorful and come in large portions. Reasonable price.The service is excellent, and there's even a performance before the food is served, which made today extra fun. If you're ever in Leamington, be sure to give it a try!
I like Indian food and consider a dinner here a refreshing experience. This restaurant is so different from others. An Indian restaurant featuring seafood is rare. This one does it right. The Kayal Fish Curry was very satisfying. I am grateful for the waitress who is passionately proud of the cuisine from her home place. Her recommendations were spot on.
As usual, Kayal is a fantastic restaurant. Interior is really beautiful. Staffs are nice. Food is great. Tried Saturday special food which is Lamb pepper fry and it was tasty. One of the best restaurants in Leamington spa.
Kinda disappointing. I had the veggie thali, and all the curries basically tasted the same. I had expected it to be very spicy (being South Indian food) but it was a bit bland. Not the worst, not the best, just average. No running water in the bathroom. (The motorbike is cool, though.)
We ordered Muringakah soup and Uzhunnu vada for the starters. The soup was very unique and ultimate delicious, something we didn’t taste before but glad we ordered. Vada was crisp outside and soft inside. Chilly panner was up to the mark. My friends ordered Tilapia pollichathu and were crazy for this dish. They really loved it and would certainly recommend it. Thakkali choru was so flavourful, with a tangy taste of tomatoes and less spicy. We had appams, parathas, pooris and kallappam in breads and couldn’t complain about any. Pooris were fluffy and made out of whole wheat, Appams were soft and had the authentic taste. I must say the food and the service of this restaurant made our Friday night right. To end it all on a sweet note, we ordered pineapple kesari and unnakkai, both had the authentic taste and shared the desserts amongst us. The service was excellent and we enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for Kerela cuisine.
Nice Indian restaurant. Had a lunch there and very good price from the lunch menu. The curry was cooked just right, not too spicy, the portions size is small but OK for me. The staff are friendly and helpful. No need to book table they have loads of seats.
