Popped in during the Warwick mop with the family. Staff were kind and quick to serve us, place looks clean and classy, the food was wonderful. I had a chicken and mushroom pathia madras hot (my usual dish but the first time here) it was beautiful! Thank you saffron.

I had high hopes for Saffron Gold, an Indian curry house nestled in Warwick, but sadly, it was a mixed bag. Let’s start with the good: the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly β€” the kind that makes you feel welcome the moment you step through the door. And the naan bread? Easily the highlight of the meal. Freshly cooked in a Kashmir tandoori oven, it was soft, pillowy, and slightly charred in all the right places. If I could have just eaten a basket of that, I might be writing a very different review. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to the naan. I ordered a fish curry, which arrived looking rather sad β€” grey, rubbery, and alarmingly overcooked. Texture aside, the flavor lacked depth and didn’t bring the rich, fragrant punch you'd expect from a proper Indian curry house. The real kicker? Let’s just say my digestive system went on a turbulent journey for several days afterward. I’m not sure what ingredient triggered it, but I spent more time in the bathroom than I care to admit. In short: friendly service and phenomenal naan, but the rest of the meal left me regretting the visit. Proceed with caution β€” and maybe bring your own Imodium.

Saffron Gold Visit: 3rd May 2025 We went with friends, we all had a fabulous time. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was first rate with big portions. Altogether a fabulous evening.

Random pick when in Warwick for the night and so glad we went! Restaurant was well presented, staff helpful and friendly and the food was some of the best Indian dishes we have had. The poppadoms were only Β£1 each and came with the mango chutney, raiti, hot red sauce & tomato&onion salad, the assorted veggie starter was big enough to share and they even gave us a side plate of salad without asking (pic after I'd cut each item). My husband was very impressed with his Salmon curry served on a fished shaped plate and I loved my dakeshwari which was a cross between korma & TM.. With 3 alcoholic and 2 pints of soft drink it was still under Β£70 which i thought was very reasonable. From the snippets.lf conversation I heard it sounded like the rest of the customers were all regulars which is a great sign too. Highly recommend!

Lovely staff, very attentive. Was busy on a Thursday so if your a group it would probably be worth booking. You can tell a lot from an Indian restaurant from their pompadoms & these were crispy, hot & freshly cooked. Onion bhajis & aloo chaat for starters (it wasn’t authentic chaat but tasted nice) onion bhajis was delicious. We had seen the size of portions coming out so ordered β€œside” size & we still couldn’t finish it all. Fish tika was lovely as were dhal & potatoes. Favourite was paneer makhani, it was delicious but again wasn’t a traditional makhani. Paratha, rice & 3 pints of cobra. It was all great & if I lived in Warwick I’d eat here all the time

Lovely meal how ever felt rushed we had just sat down to look at menu when we was asked if we want drinks starters and poppadoms! Then when we started poppadoms we was asked what we wanted for main! Can't fault food lovely place will be back but please give us a bit more time when we come in.

Very very poor. Arrived on time seated immediately and served poppadoms and dip along with our beers. That's were it ended. 20 minutes before they came to take our food order. After we had our starters we then waited over an hour for the mains, this was even after asking 3 times how long our food would be. Eventually it arrived, the food was cold, chicken dry and pepper's and tomatoes that were it in were raw, like they had been thrown in as an after thought. My Husband's was warm and he said was OK, but not what he expected. The Pilau rice was well cooked. The service was slow and one waiter just seemed like he didn't care and didn't want to be there. When I complained to another waiter he was very apologetic and passed our comment's on. Yes they did give us 10% off the bill but don't charge the fact we won't be returning and won't be recommending it. On a plus side the atmosphere was pleasant.

I have no idea how the ratings are so high! Ordered from just eat and the delivery time kept changing. Called them 45 minutes later and they started giving excuses and were rude to the core! Both the employee and the manager. They started instigating me and told me to cancel the order if I couldn't wait after 45 minutes of placing the order. Never experienced anything like this before! I wonder how they are able to even survive as a business. Lack of conscience and responsibility
