Food is normally fabulous. Can get loud in there. Last visit the food was good, just not hot enough. Goats cheese starter has very generous portions. Staff lovely.
My wife and I went to San Giovanni’s for her birthday lunch and had a fantastic experience. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived and offered drinks at the bar, but we chose to head straight to our table. We started with a rhubarb spritz and a lemon spritz—both really refreshing. To share, we had the Nocellara olives and Bruschetta Romana, which were bursting with authentic flavours and served in generous portions—perfect for two. For mains, I had the Risotto ai Frutti di Mare, which was packed with fresh seafood and rich flavours, truly delicious. My wife had the Lobster & Crab Ravioli, which was creamy and perfectly cooked. For dessert, I enjoyed the tiramisu with an espresso, and my wife had the affogato. Both were a lovely way to finish the meal. The staff were friendly, attentive, and polite throughout, which really added to the experience. I’d definitely recommend San Giovanni’s—great food, great atmosphere, and a perfect place to celebrate.
Really a meal of 2 half's. Arrival: beautiful venue, attentive staff & straight to our table. Attractive table layout & wide choice on menu. Drinks & Starters prompt & amazing quality & taste..... then down hill, all 4 main courses were below standard & not what was both advertised or expected. It seemed as though the waiting staff started to ignore us when overhearing that the food was not good. At no point did anyone come and ask if all ok (although did number of times in the starter) had to call someone over to ask for a other drink, no comment on collection of plates (when evident that some meals were not eaten fully). It was such a shame and marred my birthday celebrations. With others in my party being food critics (off duty), it was a poor experience overall. With the prices I would have expected a lot better & have eaten (as you can see from my review history) better (and cheaper).
We highly recommend trying here! We literally can't fault a thing, and will definitely be going back. The food was incredible, the setting and restaurant itself was beautiful, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were really friendly and efficient. The portions were plenty and tasted amazing. Food and drinks came out so quick and everything is made fresh to order. There is plenty of on-site parking for anyone driving there. I recommend booking in advance as they tend to get booked up! It's in a really pretty setting, and I can imagine it to be even nicer in spring/summer with all the outdoor seating.

Beautiful restaurant overlooking a lake. Food was amazing, pasta was fresh. Lots of vegetarian options. Staff are friendly and very accommodating with your food choice. Try the risotto (I had tagliatelle instead) truffle in white sauce. Lots of dessert and a great wine selection. Would come here again.
My family and I came here to celebrate my parents anniversary. I must say this place has a great view, welcoming atmosphere and good food. I had the lasagne bolongnese and the chocolate bomb which were both tasty. Definitely would recommend.
Delicious food, brilliant staff and a wonderful atmosphere - perfect for any celebration. We enjoyed a wonderful date night here with tasty mocktails and elevated Italian dishes. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Absolutely the best Italian I have been too , food , staff and venue are top level and can not rate highly enough. We went as our anniversary dinner and it really made our evening.
