   Dissapointed is an understatement for this company, to think a company like Howdens can mess up a small space is beyond me. I picked Howdens over Magnet and DIY kitchens (who Sheetal told me not to go with as they are rubbish but im not sure how Howdens are much better - to comment on another company when i'm having to leave a negative review for your service is quite embarrassing...). Where do i start... the missing items that they forgot and i had to pay extra for...or shall we begin with my utility room. Sheetal at Howdens Thurmaston, a Kitchen Designer might i highlight, designed our main kitchen beautifully (some missing parts that i had to pay for) but otherwise great job. Which is why it begs me to question how you could mess up such a small space. She designed our utility room as if it was twice the size, then when the fitters installed it we had no space to walk to the other side, the space was always going to have double door fridge, yet the fridge was halfway sticking out. Once we complained and told her/Howdens Thurmaston, i was told its our fault for not telling them throughout the process and that they can't do anything because we didn't tell them sooner. I understand that, but surely you can look at your measurements and then look at what you've designed - question - is this practical? Guess what, it was not practical and who had to pay the extra costs to get their kitchen done in time? We did! And guess who took 0 accountability and gave the worst customer service - Howdens did! Both the Thurmaston depot and the HQ in London, to sum up the service, empathy for a customer who has paid ALOT and willingness to help, it was truly disgusting. All i asked was where on earth did that initial design come from?! And how can you design something so impractical?! I understand we didn't complain during the process because we were so focused on fixing Howdens initial mess up...but as a kitchen designer...surely you know and if you don't, it's okay to admit! We all make mistakes! I've also heard from regular Howdens fitters that they regularly make these mistakes and they regularly shift the blame onto their homeowners. And now, Howdens HQ have so kindly suggested i seek my own independent advice and that they will not be responding to me anymore, so i am now worse off financially but on the plus side, my mum was able to rectify the design and designed the utility space much better than the paid professionals were. So my suggestion is, use Magnet and use DIY, don't listen to Howdens or other tradesman when they talk down on another trades services, usually their service/product isn't that great if they have to badmouth anothers to get work!

   This one star is due to my experience with Suhag. I purchased a door which Suhag was happy to take my payments for at the Thurmaston branch and informed me that I would need to collect from Freeman Common. Upon collection there was an fault with the door however when I went to return at the Thurmaston branch, Suhag informed me it can only be returned at the freeman's Common branch which is something I've never heard of. Suhag was very poor in his communication and the manner in which he spoke to me was disrespectful and I was shocked to learn he was assistant manager when I have dealt with staff nicer and more understanding that Suhag. I advise to howdens to review their return policy and provide suhag with necessary training required for his customer facing role

   Very good service from Howdens from planning, designing to measuring up my utility room, Sheetal and the team were very helpful and ensured everything was delivered on time too. Returns and exchanges were made simple by Sheetal as well as ensuring we had all the items needed for the job. I would highly recommend Howdens and the team at Thurmaston, service with a smile.
