What a wonderful place. A nursery selling plants in good condition and a cafe selling delicious food through capable, friendly staff. Freshly home made egg and chips was a joy
Food was good quality and service was good had the English breakfast, wide selection of home made cakes. Dogs friendly too. Only down side was it a long wait for the food almost an hour after ordering
Sad to say this is not a kid friendly cafe. I went today with my toddler and 3 month old baby. When ordering food I wasn't told there was a kids menu despite having the kids with me in the queue and commenting to the friend I was with that I'd have liked a kids menu. I was feeding my baby as the food arrived and it was all placed out of my reach directly in front of my toddler (in high chair), and when I asked for cutlery I was told to get it myself despite the fact that I was clearly breastfeeding. I had to ask directly if the waitress could please bring cutlery to the table for us and she was clearly displeased at being asked. I understand that the cutlery is on the side for self service but I forgot to collect it and feel that if there is table service it shouldn't be too much to ask for cutlery to be brought in this situation. I was also told I was in the way when I was ordering food and had a very confusing conversation about whether they were still serving breakfast. I was generally made to feel like a pain and an inconvenience to them just for the fact of having children with me.
A lovely cafe, with good food at fair prices. Inside a very good garden centre which is currently being refurbished (car park). Looking forward to seeing the improvement and will definitely be visiting here again. Highly recommended
Never recovered its pleasant atmosphere since its "facelift". Just another "caff" with an incredibly noisy interior. Great shame.
Food is lovely and freshly prepared. Delicious breakfast. I had a slow gin and damson ice cream which lovely.
No food without a table number I was rudely told after waiting in a queue. Extraordinary how they turn away customers!
Overall poor experience. Wrong items brought to table from ordering. Portion sizes were small and overpriced for the contents. Staff were not helpful, borderline rude, and were unable to process a refund correctly (actually ended up double charging instead of returning money to card). Would avoid - far better experience at nearby Mrs Bee’s Potting Shed.
A very grumpy lady (Granny Smith?) barked at me "I am closed, this is my last customer" pointing at a man in front of me after I queued for about 3 minutes at 3.33PM (closing time apparently 4PM, plenty of people sitting still eating and drinking, the sign was also still 'open') so I think this is us done with the place.
