⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 I recently encountered a serious issue with my BMW X5, which kept cutting out while driving. I took it to five different garages, yet none were able to provide a clear diagnosis—suggestions ranged from the alternator to the DCD, but nothing was certain. I was then advised to take the vehicle to Clayton’s MOT, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. James had the proper BMW ISTA diagnostic tools, which many garages don’t have, He demonstrated outstanding technical knowledge. He accurately diagnosed the fault as the alternator and took the initiative to contact my warranty company directly. Thanks to his persistence and professionalism, the warranty company approved the full claim for both parts and labour—something they are not usually keen to do. Throughout the process, James kept me fully informed and handled everything with complete professionalism. I now have full confidence in bringing my car here in the future. Exceptional service, highly recommended.

Got to be a 5* for me... from the first call to the booked service everything went great. No extra cost exalty the price quoted was charged. No easy service on the M5 competition many places couldn't do it properly and quoted the job wrong didn't have the online connectivity with BMW direct to actually know what the service requirements were. I moved here from the local Volvo dealership after my Volvo service plan ended and after very poor service by the dealers for 3-4 years. Excellent service from the quotation by James all the way to completion of a major 100k service plus MoT and some extra jobs. The communication at every step was very good indeed (Tracy thank you). Had an MOT which was done quickly. Was called during MOT to advise side mirror indicator lamp was cracked and thats a fail.. Advised of options, temporary fix with tape (no mention of price) or replace bulb part which when I asked how much was £140. So opted for temporary fix. Partner picked up car. Receipt shows charged £25 for temporary fix, which wasn't advised on call. The £140 I was quoted for repair was in fact £87 for the repair and the cost of the MOT. The temporary repair is literally a 15cm x 2cm strip of cellotape (told its clear masking) but I've been charged for the 25 minutes it took. It looks like a 1 minute job to cut and apply the tape and some time to maybe move the car, collect tape etc. If I was advised that it would cost £25 but the full repair would cost £60 extra I wouldn have opted for the full repair. Very poorly communicated. Called and got an apology but that's it. Disappointing.

Expensive - Took my car in for it's MOT which failed. The lady on the phone was very helpful and printed out an estimate repair cost. This came to just shy of £900, which i thought was quite steep. I enquired at another garage and got the job done for there for £500 saving me £400. The parts didn't seem over priced it was the labour which was more expensive than the parts.
