I found that Halfords have an online car battery fitting service you can book ahead of your visit. They were able to do the job the next day in a highly efficient way. This happened between Christmas and New Year when no garage was even answering the phone.
Disappointed with the 'non-optional' fitting service that I was charged for despite specifically saying I didn't want fitting, as I want to learn how to do it myself. I'd asked which bulb I needed only and had no choice over which brand was picked from the shelf. I do honestly feel i was treated this way as a female and would have expected to at least be given a fitting quote to accept before being charged. Having not been invited to choose my bulb, I was unaware how much the bulb was, so was completely oblivious until I saw the itemised bill and assumed the original bulb had been replaced once he'd checked the code.
Was a waste of time driving out of my way to get battery tested and changed if needed. Battery needed replacing and was told he didnt feel confident doing it. Why advertise a service if you cant do it. Feel incredibly let down. Won't be using Halfords anymore.
Halfords is in my opinion is the go to place for bicycle repair and also fantastic customer service especially from Ollie and his team who are always ready and willing to help and assist with sound and practical advice and product purchases etc My two bikes were in tip top condition when i picked them up and today my daughter and I went in for an impact wrench and ollie helped us select the correct product. Very pleased. Thank you so much
I ordered some parts on-line and on collecting them, I was in and out of the store within three minutes. The staff are always friendly and helpful there and the parts have a two year guarantee. You really can't beat Halfords these days.

Thank you Ollie and colleagues for your excellent service yesterday, Tuesday, in replacing the nearside headlamp bulb of my Skoda Fabia. A very tricky, fiddly job which took 40minutes. They managed it and were so helpful and professional. Brilliant, I am very grateful. Xx.
Although the review is for the oil I bought which is fine, I actually went to the store to get my headlamp bulb replaced but after trying for 10 minutes the assistant went in to get advice and returned to tell me they couldn’t do it and I’d have to go elsewhere, hence the one star. Maybe you should state you only offer a fitting service to certain vehicles.
Just called into Market Harborough Halfords as my driver's side main beam bulb had blown.Purchased a new bulb which was speedily fitted. Excellent service at a very reasonable price with friendly and helpful staff.
