   It’s great until something goes wrong. I booked a haircut with Natalie which I was happy with so a few days later I booked another appointment for a balayage. The result was too stripy, not blended and too yellow. When I raised my concerns I was told they used an ash toner and it should have turned out fine and that I should get used to it and if I still don’t like it to book another appointment to change the toner. I was rushed to pay as they had other customers waiting and left shocked with myself after spending £200 for this outrageous result. As the days went by the hair only got worse, after a week I messaged Nicola with no reply. Now I also know that the technique that was used is nowhere near the one that needs to take you to the result I asked. I wouldn’t recommend this salon whatsoever and reading the negative reviews, it only makes sense as how things played out for them. I’m sharing how my hair turned out and what I asked them to look like. I know the hair is for laughs but unfortunately I can only cry after paying so much to get my hair damaged.

   All i have asked was for a blow dry with a bit of volume and loose curles . I look like a sheep now very curly no volume at all . To be honest was cheap 25 pounds . But is not about the money is about the quality that you want in the end . I will not reccomend and not return Pic is 10 min after awful

   I have been coming to this salon for a while now and continue to have a great experience. I have difficult, thick hair which I struggle to control. Hannah is a fantastic stylist … she always listens to my frustrations and understands what I am trying to achieve. She really ‘gets to grips’ with my hair and consequently even when it grows, it totally keeps its shape - something that’s important to me as I work at a senior level in a corporate role. I cannot recommend her highly enough. (Also love the touches in the salon - an amazing choice of hot and cold drinks regularly supplied and the wonderfully stylish Kathy on reception for whom nothing is too much trouble).

   I came in a few weeks ago, having not visited the salon before, and had my hair done by Jennie; it had been very long and wavy for ages, but, due to the nature of my corporate career and wanting to look more professional, I needed layers added and quite a different style! She did an excellent job (I had to come back for a slight change, but ended up with the exact style I wanted) and clearly knew exactly how to cut layered hair. I have had multiple friends and family compliment me and ask me where I got my hair done over the past few weeks! The salon itself is also quite high-end, if that's what you're looking for. I usually go to one of Birmingham's best places, so am admittedly hard to impress, but the customer service is top-notch with everyone being quite helpful and friendly, and they also have a lovely little shop with all the hair products you could want. If (like me) you're someone who doesn't go to "any old salon" and wants your hair done very well, I'd really recommend Nicola Smyth!

   I have been using this salon for a few years now and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and offer a great service. The salon has a relaxed vibe and you are offered a drinks menu on arrival with a lovely selection of teas and coffees. I have wavy/curly hair, and both Jennie and Marie have helped me understand how to care for and style my specific hair type. Staff are great at communicating and listening carefully to what you want from your visit, and have helpful suggestions to help you achieve what you are looking for.

   I have just been for a texture cut and blow dry with Millie , I am absolutely delighted with my hair ,I am totally transformed ! Her attention to detail was amazing and her blow dry skills were fantastic, I loved the salon , I love the fact that she used a Dyson Supersonic to blow dry me ! Highly recommended! Thank you Millie

   Jennie gave me a lovely, layered cut to accentuate the shape of my hair, which I've recently discovered is curly! She listened to exactly what I'd like, made recommendations, and even used sulphate free products. Very, very impressed with the service and the first haircut I've enjoyed.
