   I’ve lived in Oadby 20+ years & have been served by various independent DIY shops here, during this time. They each have had their own “character…” New owners took over a few years ago—& reading the reviews, it’s like marmite—you either love it or hate it! I love it—more than it’s previous incarnation. Very full of stock & like an Aladdin’s Cave! Depending on my mood & time pressures, I either just go right to a staff member to ask for what I need, or instead entertain myself with a browse first. They have so much useful stuff you didn’t realise you need! I have always found the staff friendly, helpful & approachable —but I also try & walk around with a smile on my face, too. ;-) Now that O&WBC have mandatory parking charges, the free parking this shop has is even more of an attractant. Admittedly, if I needed a paint mixing service, I would probably head right to Wigston for Wickes or B&Q to do it…but I’m very grateful we have Oadby DIY here locally for most of our DIY & household needs.

   I would not recommend Oadby DIY....I have been a customer for 25 years but recently have experienced incredibly poor customer service. I have travelled 3 miles twice in the last fortnight to purchase some Dulux mix paint there, only to be told on both occasions that the owner isn't there to mix it and to return another day ! In addition I was told today that the pipes would have to be cleaned before the paint could be mixed! It would seem that they aren't actually interested in providing a paint mix service at all and I found the attitude of the owner's son to be off hand and lazy. He didn't seem to want to put himself out to help me at all. Needless to say I won't be using Oadby DIY again.

   This place is no longer the tip it used to be. Much cleaner and tidier. Owners have took notice of recent poor reviews. I had originally given 1 star but now it,s a 5. Place is well stocked up. Well done keep it up.

   A wonderful place, if you want it, they have it! Seems slightly chaotic, but I have never failed to come away with what I went in for. Love this place!

   This place is like a junkyard. The shop is a complete and utter mess the minute you walking. Boxes are everywhere and the layout is all over the place, hard to find things and hard to walk between the aisles. Shop is a bit hazardous and very unfriendly. Walk down the bulbs Isle and you’ll know what I mean. Not the most customer service friendly, and the people behind the counter for early move away from that area. The checkout area is a mess with boxes all over the place. The shop has definitely gone downhill since the previous owners who kept it well I need some sort of order. On the plus side the shop to sell everything you could possibly want for home. The only difficult thing is neither you or the shopkeeper will be able to find what you are looking for.

   I bought 1 bottle trap for £7.99! It was missing a rubber o ring they then questioned if I had took it the staff were not helpful at all will not be using this place again everything is way over priced and didn't feel welcomed at all!! I would recommend the hardware shop behind, they are very plesent also reasonable prices.
