   I cannot thank enough, Vanessa, Jada and Ella for helping to make a smooth transition from our old home to our new home. They were so prompt, and always got back to me as soon as they could with updates and any of my queries. It was quite a personal experience, listening to my needs and worries! I certainly recommend Lyons Bowe as your solicitor, I have only good things to say about them as a company. I highly recommend.

   Unfortunately, our experience wasn’t the best. Communication throughout was very poor — emails were vague, instructions unclear, and as first-time buyers we often felt unsure about what we needed to do. We didn’t feel reassured or properly guided by the team Important information was regularly missing from key emails, which meant a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth just to get basic clarity. It was also extremely difficult to get in contact with anyone when we had queries, which only slowed the whole process down further. On the day of completion, things were delayed again because we were suddenly told that the final invoice had to be paid before they could complete. This had never been mentioned beforehand, and receiving an email at 13:00 demanding payment before completion was very stressful — for us and the other vendors as we have removal company’s in place. you’d expect the final invoice to be paid after the work is completed. The only positive was the job was finally completed, props to our estate agent, who stepped in, chased on our behalf, and helped move things forward. Overall, we were not overly impressed, particularly considering the fees were £400–£u500 higher than other firms

   I would not recommend Lyons Bowe at all. Despite saying from the outset that I wanted my conveyancing to be handled by one person (a solicitor), I had to deal with about a dozen different people in various 'teams'; many of them were inexperienced and unqualified people. This mode of operation was never explained to me; I would have chosen another firm if they had. Every time got through on the phone they had to find my file on their system. In my initial 'welcome pack' I was told the name of a solicitor in charge of my case. I never heard from him. On two occasions someone sent demands for money which had already been paid. Maybe I like old-fashioned service, but on one occasion was asked if I minded a call back as the person had to collect her child from school. Fact or excuse - either way it is not what I expect from a legal firm. On the one occasion I called into the office I was confronted by girls in very casual dress, not proper business appearance at all. I had on more than one occasion to do the chasing of purchasers and sellers via estate agents - work that the company could or would not do. Even after completion, I had to ask for paperwork that had been promised verbally. If you want a casual operation (but charged at professional fees), then Lyons Bowe is the legal firm for you.
