   I have been pulling my hair out for months trying to sell a property to a buyer who has been using Red Kite. The consistent message I get from both the buyer, who is a friend of mine, and my solicitor, is that they just take ages to get a response about every single step of the sale. This sale started in June and should have taken 3-4 months. It is now late December, and because it’s all been left to the last minute, a problem with the buyer’s bank looks like it’s going to mean that the whole thing gets pushed back to next year, because Red Kite are closed for 2 weeks after today.

   I phoned them with an initial enquiry. The receptionist wasn't sure which team was best able to deal with my enquiry but promised someone would get back to me. The person who followed up was unable to help but promised they'd find the right specialist for my query. I have heard nothing further from them in the month since then. Don't expect good communication, if my experience is typical.

   Do not use November 21. Red Kite were acting for the vendor I was buying from. Huge delays caused by them, took just under a month to issue the initial instruction forms. Issued incorrect titles with draft contract, mistakenly giving away an extra piece of land half a mile away. Generally non responsive when needing to return calls and emails from solicitors and estate agent. I asked for the property to be cleaned and they replied to my solicitor stating that vendors were not willing to reduce price - which I never asked for and staled relations. Wished to exchange on Thursday at 3pm, however this was not possible as everyone had gone home! On the Friday, again non responsive and exchange happened eventually at 4pm. Disaster on completion day, even though I’d completed on my house sale before 10am (only 2 properties in chain) - we were delayed by over 4 hours due to Red Kite. They had not provided their bank details to my solicitor, even though this was requested the previous week. From 9am - 2pm Claire Hitchings was not replying to any calls or emails. Even when Red Kite had received the funds, they decided taking their lunch break between 1pm and 2pm was more important than checking their bank balance and releasing the keys. My removal company sat around for hours as they can not do a basic things such as share bank details. This resulted in my removal charges increasing.An absolute nightmare, moving home is stressful enough- without having to face this level of incompetence!

   I needed accurate advice in a dispute over a claim against me concerning a property. I had a 45 minute interview with a family law solicitor who outlined all the possibilities & costs. She then suggested the least expensive way to resolve the dispute via an offer to the other party. The solicitor offered to review my offer letter & having read what I'd written, didn't charge as the necessary editing was limited. I was only able to write that offer letter because the explanation & advice given was comprehensive & accurate.

   Redkite received us with warmth and patience when we were faced with an aggressive spurious claim against us. Whilst always acknowledging the frustration and hurt unjustly caused to us, Redkite, through exquisite manners and an intelligent strategy, defended us throughout to a successful end. We hope we don't need a solicitor again but we know we have one we would definitely use again should we face a difficult situation like this again.
