Always had a good experience at Moorside in the past, i am not someone that needs to visit regularly. Very suprised to find how things have changed since my last visit about 2 years previous. Ring for appointment to be told I need to ring at 8am for same day appointment and told its all on our website. So Monday morning after taking a day off work, I ring at 8 to find I am 53 in the queue. Press 8 for a ring back and wait 2 hours for a call back. No appointments until the extended access surgery on Saturday. When I get there 10 mins early, reception can't say hello or good morning, just "name" and " take a seat". So I sit down near the reception desk. Several people come in after me and I can hear they have appointments later than mine. All 7 of them went in before me and 4 were called by same Doctor. 45 mins after my appointment time i get in, Doctor can't pronounce my last name never mind my first name. Very uninterested in me or the reason I'm there. Told me nothing about it just said I needed a referral. No information on what he thought my problem may be or reassurance and if i haven't heard anything in 4 weeks to get in touch with my own GP. Felt like I didn't matter. Consultation took all of 3 minutes and his attitude was terrible. This practice has become a joke.

Usually have a good experience with moorside, can’t complain about the clinical staff however the receptionist Steph has an awful attitude. Awful patient demeanour. No empathy at all. Accused me of not ringing at 8am when I did and had to ring again because they are incompetent of calling back when they can’t hear you. Before even listening to the reason for my call, she classed me as non urgent because they are fully booked for the day. 3rd day in a row calling at 8am for a telephone appointment which I understand things happen & practices are busy, however there should be some level of empathy and understanding for your patients within a health care setting! Please retrain the reception team member and educate them about patient centred care.

Im very disappointed with the behaviour of this surgery. I came across an elderly man who had fallen and had badly injured himself not far from the surgery. I took him in hoping that someone may be able to check him over whilst we waiting for an ambulance but I was told no, as he wasn’t registered there. The GP refused to even give us some gauze to stop the bleeding and handed us some tissues. They made us feel very unwelcome. What kind of people treat an elderly person like that? I’m completely disgusted.

Most of the times I’ve had positive experiences with this surgery but occasionally the receptionists can be rude. On one occasion I had a strange discolouration on my big toenail. Spoke to Pharmacist first and he told me to give it a few months before speaking to Doctor. Obviously you start to worry when you start researching online what it could be. I thought it was Subungual Melanoma. After about 3 months I rang the surgery to book an appointment. The receptionist said ‘you want to see a Doctor because of a mark on your toenail?’ It was said in an ill-mannered way. Anyway I managed to speak with Dr Dixon on another issue and he asked me if I had any other concerns. I showed him the issue and he told me not to worry. I particularly like Dr Dixon and Dr Sullivan. I guess it can be stressful working as a receptionist in a busy environment as I used to work in a busy call centre and it can be tough.

Disgusting surgery, diabetic nurse hasn't a clue what she's talking about, always has to verify things with doctor. Was told I don't need my lancets to check my blood sugar when I'm diabetic type 2 yet they gave me the strips to put in my machine!! All the time I was there I asked for these to be put back on my repeats prescription but they didn't (previous doctors had them on repeat from 2018) how do they expect me to check my blood sugar when I haven't got the blood to check?? Luckily I had couple of relatives that used the same lancets so they gave me some when ever I needed them. Receptionists think there better than anyone else, there was one receptionist there who was so lovely and polite, she was the best thing about the surgery

My dad had an appointment yesterday, he believes the GP was a locum. Dad is elderly and has very poor health. Apparently, during the consultation, the doctor said, "well that was a funny 10 minutes". Dad said he dare not ask about something else that was bothering him. I do realise realise how difficult things are for the NHS, but locums get paid a fortune and should never speak to their patients in this way (regardless of how much they earn!)

My partner is asthmatic and her last inhaler had run out. The surgery is aware she is an asthmatic and refused help her. Your reception staff were so rude on the phone, they reduced this mother of 2 to tears. She requested an emergency prescription but was told it wasn't their problem and she should just go to hospital? I thought the whole point of the surgery's existence was to help people not pass it on. Sort it out.

Excellent practice and quality staff.Kelly and Rebecca were brilliant and really helpful. Thank you, you have done more for my Diabetes in 2 months what my prev 2 practices couldn't do over 5 years and it's much appreciated.

I rang the surgery at 10.20am and I received an appointment for 11am! The reception staff are kind and helpful over the phone. A special mention to Dr. Taylor who is both caring and thorough! Thanks to all of you! Jayne Morgan

I've been with this surgery since I was a baby, I've always had brilliant doctors and nurses who have had empathy and been very understanding. The receptionists could have a warmer welcome, I waited until after 10am to make a none essential appointment as I wasn't sure if it classed as essential (to save appoints appointments for others) and felt that the receptionist was very frosty and abrupt. Otherwise I think this surgery is brilliant and very clean. One nurse squeezed me in for pre travel vaccinations at very short notice and extended her ours to fit me in! I would definitely recommend this surgery.
