Really poor practice with no appointment available. Been trying to get an appointment for urgent matter but they have been telling me to call back the next day to see a doctor or to call 111 for me to get back referred to my GP. Absolute waste of time and it has been almost a week!! Doctors don't care and receptionist can't be asked to help you at all. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Moved to this doctors a couple of months a go but today was the final straw the attitude on the receptionist on the phone and in person. Is disgusting it's the asian girl with the glasses not been racist the arrogance and her manarisems are shocking . Nurses and doctors not knowing what simple medication is . Is a big NO avoid this doctors if you want to help. Would of been 0 stars if was available

Had a few appointments here, it can take a few attempts to get through in the morning, and the automated message is very long. But when I have called to make a non-emergency appointment I've been able to call later in the day, and received an appointment within a few days! The doctors and nurses I've seen have all been lovely, and I've not had to wait long to be seen. So far this is the best GP practice I've been to since moving to Yorkshire.

Good Afternoon I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks to the entire reception team and the doctors. Over the past year, my family and I have needed your support for various health matters, and each time I’ve reached out, you have gone above and beyond to assist, whether that’s with appointments, medication, or guidance. Every time we’ve attended the practice, we’ve felt truly seen, heard and cared for. That in itself makes such a significant difference, especially during times when health challenges can feel overwhelming. In particular, I’d like to extend special thanks to Dr Steel. The care, attention, and kindness you show to both myself and my family members never goes unnoticed. You listen with patience, never rush through appointments, and always approach us with a smile and genuine compassion. Your knowledge and support have made such a positive impact, being seen and heard in difficult moments means so much and it’s deeply appreciated. Thank you again to all of you for the incredible care you provide. Best wishes, Julie Craven

Can not fault the doctors at all Once you get through Alcatraz on the phone, so this review is scored as fairly as possible as they are great. But the lady who answered my call yesterday was abhorrent. I waited 15 minutes for the call to be answered. When it was, I was met with attitude from the off. I advised I was unable to order my repeat prescription on the app. She said she would send me a password reset (without asking if this was the issue) I advised I have no issues getting on the app, just that it was preventing me from ordering it. She didn't ask why, just told me there is nothing she can do as she can't take prescription orders over the phone. I asked what I needed to do to get my prescription, she bluntly told me to send a message via the app and they will get to it at some point. I asked for directions on how to do this as I've never been asked to do this before. Once again she abruptly gave me instructions on how to do it. I was slightly taken back by her poor attitude but thanked her nonetheless. When I went back to the app to send the message, the error I got was, this functionality has been switched off. So I called back later on and spoke to the gentleman on reception who couldn't have done more. Extremely helpful, advised of timescales to get my prescription. Not entirely sure why the lady I spoke to was so rude but really didn't appreciate it when all I needed was some help to get my repeat prescription. It's a shame that the review has scored so low for the actions of one person.

I rang to make an appointment with a doctor at 8.30am the lines were busy until someone answered at 9.25am to tell me there were no appointments available, I felt really ill and had been hanging on for nearly an hour, the receptionist told me to either try again at 1pm or ring back at 8.30 the next day, I tried at 1pm and was hanging on until 1.30 and again told there’s no appointments, the receptionist was polite and empathetic but there was nothing she could do, and I was in tears because I felt so ill, she told me I could ring 111 so I did, 111 assessed me and said I needed to be seen within 12 hours, they sent a referral to Ashcroft surgery and told me to ring Ashcroft again and tell them, they’d sent a referral and I had to be seen, I told 111 that Ashcroft were adamant there were no appointments, they said that Ashcroft have to keep some appointments aside for such referrals and that to ring them and they must see me, so I rang Ashcroft only to be told the same thing, referral or not there’s no appointments, they told me to come down to surgery the next day for 8.10am and I’d be seen …so I did and waited from 8am until 10.30 to be seen …the surgery itself is run down and filthy, the toilet had no paper towels in, or any way to dry your hands and the bin in there is disgusting …the whole place is run down, the doctors printer didn’t work either. …it should NOT be so difficult to make an appointment or to even get through on the phone lines! (the answer machine says why not use the e consult service online? the e consult service is always switched off!) …but in my case I actually needed to see a doctor, and 111 said that I needed to be seen that day…the doctor advised me to write to the practice manager and also my MP with my concerns….the doctors are very good once you get to see one.

She was so rude that some person in the waiting room advised me nicely where i should go. This is just disgusting behaviour!!!!!!!

So yesterday and today i have spent a total of 1 hours and 47 minutes trying to make an appointment for bloods doing. An appointment they they sent me a text message to make. Although once through the receptionist was courteous and helpful, the wait to be answered in unacceptable, I have been a patient at this doctors since it used to be a little cabin in undercliffe and can honestly say the service is getting worse. Come on practice managers, get your practice in order

Wed 8/11/2022 Just spent 18 minutes on the phone trying to get an appointment for my 6 year old. The receptionist I spoke to was very pleasant but unfortunately couldn't offer an appointment and advised me to ring back at 08:30(I take my child to school at 08:30) in the morning and I might get an appointment for next Wednesday. This is a very poor service

Absolutely disgusted with the receptionists, I’ve been hung up 40+ times now and I desperately need my bloods running. Last time I called them they weren’t accepting any patients and sent me to the emergency doctor who sent me to a&e despite me saying on countless occasions I had already been to a&e and they are the ones who need to run my bloods and do an ultrasound on my heart and chest. I do not in anyway shape or form blame the doctors and nurses who work there, the majority are genuinely sweet people it’s just appalling receptionists.
