The reception staff do go above and beyond and they've never let me down when I've needed help, the dr's and the nurses are brilliant as well, I've seen alot of negative reviews for hockley farm medical but I believe treat them with the dignity and respect and you'll receive they same back.

A timeline of my experience with the practice this last couple of weeks: Oct 20th: submit a sample collected at the weekend for a fairly serious issue I'm having. Told to wait until Friday for results Oct 24th: call back for results; no record of the sample being submitted - it's somehow been lost Oct 28th: submit a new sample via GP appointment, again told results should be available around Friday Oct 29th: attend A&E because of a bad flare up, told treatment will be dependent on the test results with GP Oct 31st: call for results - no not available yet, try again Monday Nov 3rd: nope sorry, try again on Thursday Second star given because it has historically been simple enough to book an appointment and the staff are friendly enough, but in this instance I've been failed and left suffering/unsure of what's going on because of the cock-up losing the first sample, as well as the glacial pace at which the second appears to be moving at. Hoping to change practice once the current ordeal is over.

Absolutely horrendous. Stuck in the phone queue for over an hour this morning, only to be told they can't book me an app over the phone, I have to go online and use the rapid response thing. Could have mentioned that via the altimated tservice you get when you call the surgery, then I wouldn't have wasted an hour of my time. Feel so angry and disappointed with the service that the GP surgery is offering to people.

I am not even going to mention the appalling new appointments booking system that goes in circle and pushes you to book just anything …. The service at Hockley Medical Surgery has been declining for years. Unless you record calls, they often dismiss or ignore your concerns. When a doctor is meant to call you, they usually don’t — you have to chase the call multiple times. After pushing for a blood test, no follow-up was given, no cause investigated — as if they hope you won’t chase them for answers. Worse still, I had been trying to get referred to a specialist for a suspicious mole since 2020. Only after recording calls, submitting a formal complaint and escalating to the NHS did I finally get the referral — which confirmed I urgently needed specialist care for possible melanoma. This constant fight for basic care has seriously impacted my mental health. After paying taxes all our lives, we deserve a much better service. Sadly, this is not a one-off — this decline has been going on for years.

Absolutely no chance of booking an appointment and not friendly at all. Last doctor I did get to see had to get a second opinion just to hear my chest. Turns out they were a student doctor! Playing with people's health is unacceptable

Poor services . Never any appointments . Must be the worse surgery in the country. So negative when you require any help to a problem .

I've had great care from all the staff at Hockley Farm Medical Practice, there may have been the odd time years ago that I didn't agree, but most of the time they're really helpful. Some people forget it's a training practice so you don't always get to see the same doctor, and for them it's upsetting if they have to see someone they don't know, which is underderstandable, but the younger doctors are very open to help and try new ways to help out more also this practic covers a huge area so they're very busy , but that's to be expected, in all I'm happy to recommend.

A very good gp surgery with many unfair reviews. People should appreciate the fact they deal with a very large client base and are extremely busy usually. I have recently transferred my treatment to this practice and I have found all of the staff there very professional albeit with a sense of them being very over worked and under pressure from unhappy clients. Overall I have nothing negative to say about the practice. The mental health team CMHT also deserve a special mention here, they are very good.

Absolutely shocking! Arrived for my appointment today to be told it was cancelled. The next available appointment was in 5 weeks. This was for my contraceptive injection. Was told by the receptionist ‘you’ll just have to be careful’ disgusting response to such and important appointment!!
