   I haven’t a lot of contact with the GP over the years but this year had contact twice. Once for something that needed investigation and today for a 70’s health check. First of all the significant and overwhelming change is the loveliness of the reception staff. I’ve been treated like a human being two or three times including today. The communication has been faultless! Secondly with the investigations, they have been timely and comprehensive, professional (apart from one at Croft Medical Centre) with staff at Kibworth and the General being brilliant. Just love the change at Kibworth though which includes Rapid.

   Dr Freestone is a wonderful, fantastic Doctor. A truly caring Doctor who clearly wants the best for her patients. After previously being told I was "anxious and getting older" elsewhere, she treated me with complete validation and the tests she ordered revealed a serious condition which she treated immediately and proactively. She motivated me to manage my complex health conditions at a time when they were getting me down. With her amazing support and help I am feeling so much better and hopeful for the future.    After using the new system to book online I have got to say what an improvement so much easier! Dr Richard Vickery Is the best doctor I have ever had an appointment with, he listens, doesn’t judge, very down to earth and made the entire experience great. The only doctor I will go to in future!    I can honestly say that for the last year or two I have had no issues with my surgery at all. If I have phoned at 8am, they have always been polite and friendly and I have usually managed to get an appointment with no problems. When I've needed anything, they have been more than accommodating and helpful. The care from the receptionist to the nurses, HCAs and doctors have all been outstanding. Thank you for your hardwork and care

   The receptionist have all been very polite and efficient and the care, once you actually get an appointment, is generally very good. However the system for getting an appointment is beyond medieval, causes unnecessary stress and anxiety and has ended up in being told to call 111. The poor receptionists have to deal with these managerial inadequacies. GP services need to be under the NHS, not private practices focusing on profits not people. GPs and medical practioners need to offer late evening and weekend services. Other NHS professionals and many other people work rotas. Only smear tests are available to book online, more general appointments need to be allocated to book online. And GP practices should never be allowed to take on more patients than they are able to deal with, the funding structure per patient registered needs to be amended to prevent this happening. South Leicestershire Medical Practice has some excellent GPs, Healthcare Practioners and reception/admin staff but it clearly can not cope with the number of patients.
