Great venue for live music. Especially as an artist playing there. Tom the sound engineer is great, always makes sure everyone is happy during sound checks, and the performance. The bar has some great beers and the staff are always friendly. Highly recommend.

Lovely place to drop by for a drink, it's very retro with a lovely vintage feel. It's proper kitsch which is right up my street! Really friendly staff too, and a nice, chilled out atmosphere. We look forward to our next visit!

Stumbled upon this place whilst out with a friend for a few beverages. Excellent pub with a good array of ales. We sat outside upstairs and there was a good mix of people all chilling and chatting away. Will definitely be visiting here again next time we come to Halifax. Great staff. First time having Brennan's stout and it was absolutely delicious!

Neat little, music loving, top class joint. Small bar but still a great selection. They do monthly Jazz night, highly recommended. But beware of it's inside event then just 20 people would pack the premise. Awaiting summer to experience the outside sitting and events. They got updated events on the website if you wanna plan ahead for things.

On finishing a very nice meal at TGI Fridays we had about an hour left before the ticket on the car was due to expire. So, we decided to look around for a place to have a quick drink. A The Grayston Unity was only across the road we decided to give it a visit. However, on only passing through the door and before we* had a chance to speak, we were greeting by a very rude individual who explained the band is doing a sound check we cannot serve you. Two things, this is the first time I’ve ever heard serving drinks would interfere with a sound check and two, there was no sound check when we arrived. The pub was in complete silence. I then eventually spoke and said we were only staying for one drink. The rude man continued with, if you don’t have tickets we can’t serve you anyway. As we were only staying for one drink (possibly 20 mins) and as they hadn’t even started the sound check this is an ideal way of getting bad publicity and we certainly won’t be going again.

We popped in for our first drink of the night on our way to Wetherspoons and never left! That's how good this quirky little place is!

Great little bar, nice ales at sensible prices. Have experienced several live music events here, quite something in such a constricted space. Really good atmosphere, worth a visit.

Fabulous quirky bar, absolutely love it, it's our 'Halifax local bar' (we're from Leeds)when we have a gig to go to at the Piece Hall. Wish it was closer to visit more often than we do.
