Not the greatest of hotels, but the location and value for money makes it 4 stars for me. Staff were friendly, room was big, the room didnβt look the tidiest but mostly due to the old fashioned decor, otherwise good hotel.

I had a great stay at the Hylands Hotel . The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is really convenient just a few minutes from Coventry Station.

Extremely run down, hotel smelt of cigarettes smoke throughout, especially in room. Curtains hanging off poll, TV Arial broken with live wires hanging down, punch marks in doors and walls, bathroom door hanging off the hinges. Bed and pillow hard as a rock. Walls as thin as anything, can hear everything , constant drowning noise, assume from restaurant below. I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car

Terrible is the best word to describe this hotel: 1. Cleanliness should be rated minus 5. 2. Did not get the room we initially booked 3. Kettle had black carbon in it, no point using it. 4. Noisy till 2 am in morning (DJ, some sort of partying) Didnβt sleep till then. 5. All taps had black bits coming out when we turned it on. 6. Carpet was disgusting and needed to put towels down just to walk about. 7. No bins in the rooms, well the room was equal to a bin! Only thing that worked thankfully was the locks! Basically not worth a Β£1. I was going to make a scene and ask for refund, but just could not be asked to waste my energy!

A Charming Time Capsule of Horror If youβve ever wanted to experience what itβs like to stay in a 1970s crime drama set in a condemned building, this is the hotel for you. The rooms greet you with the nostalgic aroma of decades-old cigarette smoke and despair. The carpets are so sticky and stained they could probably tell your fortune. I kept my shoes on at all times, not for comfort, but survival. Bathroom decor includes complimentary cobwebs and a family of spiders (possibly the actual owners at this point). The shower was held together by sheer hope and tape, literally. Bonus points for the bar being open, though some of the clientele looked like they wandered in straight from a police lineup. On the bright side: decent toilet paper. Everything else? A fever dream of neglect and mildew. Avoid unless youβve lost a bet.

Dirty room, dirty bedding, dirty bathroom. It's dirty. The hotel has an influx of permanent residence who have no manners. A thoroughly appalling stay. I was booked in for a consecutive two night stay. I left after the first night!!!! Avoid if you have any self preservation

Not very happy at all was given key to room (which on sign said executive room) to enter to nice sized room but what looked to be blood on the walls and bathroom door frame mold all around windows and walls. The window was open and wouldnβt close. Bare in mind I have young children too. The bathroom was disgusting the tiles was filthy, it generally looked as though the room hadnβt been cleaned just beds had been made. Not to meantion the horrid smell in the room of what smelt like years and years worth of smoke stuck the furniture and walls. No cot that was requested, went down to the one and only staff member who was helpful and polite who changed us room, but although room was changed shower was broken the cot requested was bought to us but without a mattress to be told they donβt have a mattress they didnβt even have a spare duvet to use.. really unhappy with this stay so far and only just got here.

Never seen a hotel so dirty like this one. Don't go there, Our room 84 The view is a brick wall. The bed cover was old, with a large frayed hole. The bathroom was dirty, mildew fungi covered all the silicone covered gaps. The matress was old rickety and made 'bong' sounds sitting on the edge of the bed. My room was changed to 41, thn The bathroom had the same mildew problem. Shower not well Water leaked into the bathroom through the concrete celing. The room TV, must be the smalest on the market. The 'free' internet did not work. The passages smell badly of old cigarette smoke, are very narrow with fire doors banging, disturbing sleep. Please stay away, avoid this very bad 'hotel', it is a disgusting smelly old dump. Stay away!!!!

The bed was the only thing in the room that didn't feel dirty or old. The carpet was ripped up and had tons of mysterious stains, the rooms and corridors smell like smoke even though it is a "non smoking hotel".

Ideal location for me. Great price. Decor and fixtures and fittings a little dated but room was a great size and staff very helpful.
