For £90 the room was a generous size and clean. Although only mid-September the heating was already on so it was comfortable.

Booked through a third party and had been upgraded for free from Pod 1 (automatically assigned via third party) to Pod 2 as I had emailed to ask what this would cost, which was great. This hadn't been noted on arrival as we were noted as Pod 1 but was upgraded again anyway to Ethel (Shepherds Hut). We really appreciated this and the staff were lovely. However, the hut was dirty (dirty towel, uncleaned shower with half used shampoo on the floor), sticky floor, stain on pillow and duvet. Mattress was hard and lumpy - worst night's sleep we ever had, woke up really aching. We booked for 2 nights but left after 1 and booked a travelodge. Do not recommend staying here unfortunately. Food on site was average but overpriced.

I was duped when booking this hotel. It showed pictures of a house and rooms within. In reality I had booked a wooden glamping pod in a field. It doesn’t have a sink or toilet, just a bed. It was -2 outside and I had to put a fan heater on all night just to stay warm. The toilet and shower are outside so either cross your legs or become frozen getting to them. £50 to stay in a wooden box smaller than a sauna is not what I wanted or expected. Be careful when booking and take a good look at what you have actually booked and not the misleading pictures. The restaurant next door was nice but breakfast doesn’t start until 07:30 which was the time I had to leave. Who starts breakfast at 07:30? Most people are up and in their way to work at this time.

Firstly, I have to admit that I failed to read the booking confirmation properly, so didn't notice that I was booked for a shared bathroom, as opposed to the ensuite I expected. Fair enough, but I still would have expected any shared facilities to actually be indoors. Instead, they were in a small cubicle in the field outside. They consisted of a loo, sink and shower with no partition between them and which you could be used by a large number of other 'rooms'. All in all very unhygienic. The room allocated to me was an outside 'glamping' pod; not the most inviting prospect for a September weekend of driving rain. This made tramping across the field to shower as impractical as it was unattractive. On the night I arrived there were no reception staff and I had to collect the keys from the restaurant. The young lads working there were great; very friendly and helpful, though unable to do anything about the room. When I raised it at reception the following day, I was offered a room in the main building if I paid a large supplement. I didn't and so was unable to shower during my stay. On my second night I had to listen to drunk, half naked guests fighting in said field for 2 hours, there being no one to complain to. My booking confirmation did confirm that there would be WiFi in the room as well as a desk, but there was neither, thus rendering me unable to work whilst I was there.

I had a lovely room, nice and warm with great shower, everything I needed for an overnight stay. Breakfast was good too!

Such a beautiful area!! We stayed in the honeymoon suite. The bathroom facilities were good. This room has so much potential it needs touching up a bit.. it was clean. Just the room itself was dark with horrible worn out brown wall paper. Carpet looked like it needed changing. The floor boards definitely need looking at as one area in the room the floor slumped which was quite dangerous. The mattress was obviously old as it was very firm. Lots of lovely large mirrors but nowhere to actually sit and do your make up.. the hair dryer as well trapped in the chester drawers which i get why but its in such a awkward place in the room. In the bathroom was a cupboard unlocked with a old xmas tree in and old carpet (tbh that did give us a chuckle). You cant have newly weds staying in such a dated room!! If you upgraded that room you could charge so much for it as again such a charming room with so much potential!! And can i say the ladies in reception were absolutely lovely.. picture of slumped floor for reference

Oh dear! This place has soo much potential but clearly isn't at that standard. We hired 2 of the shepard huts, Ethel and Iris, one of which was acceptable but the other had a few issues and when highlighted to staff, they weren't bothered and not even an apology. When we arrived we checked in at the resturant, we asked if we had breakfast included and no-one knew, we then asked what the timinges for breakfast were and again no-one knew. The next morning our friend staying in the second hut had a call from somebody at the venue at 7.50am ish to advise breakfast was available, so they headed down to the resturant and AGAIN staff were clueless if breakfast was included for the 4 of us and we were then told breakfast has stop being served (8.15 at this point). AVOID.

Booked a "chalet" through hotels.com and was given more of a shed when we arrived that was full of ants! Reception was shut at 6pm which was strange so we had to go to the restaurant, the man there said the chalet was already booked by someone else! Even though i had an email from the hotel saying no one was booked into it other than us all week. We were moved to another "chalet" but it was just the shed next door. The bed was tiny and about 10 feet off the ground, and was like a sauna. We booked two nights but left at 8pm the first night. Awful place with no customer service. Tried calling out of hours number and no answer multiple times.

Booked in for a chalet via booking.com but upon arrival was told they don't have chalets. Showed the booking (which said chalet) and they realised it was double booked. I booked the chalet due to my mums mobility issues. But we eneded up in a pod which wasn't suitable for her. We had traveled 5 hours via train so we had no option but to take the pod. Kettle didn't work, no TV signal , ants everywhere. Not a great overall stay.
