   We'd booked for dinner for 3 on 16 December. Once seated we ordered drinks, only 2 of 3 arrived. Only 1 of 3 food orders were available. While trying to choose 2 other dishes, our server left, presumably finishing his shift but not saying anything to us or the other staff. We wsited 15 minutes and left without paying for the drinks. Went across the square to the ROSE AND CROWN where we had a great meal with excellent service.

   I just had to come on a leave a great review because before my stay I was almost put off by some bad reviews , however I can assure you don't listen to all those , as the service we received was fantastic. The welcome for checking in for our rooms was wonderful, in person and efficient. The guy showed us in and was super polite and helpful. We then spent the evening in the bar where the staff were again very friendly. We slept well in the room as it was warm , cozy and comfortable. We then had the most wonderful full English breakfast which was included in our room price. Again the service was great , friendly and very welcoming , you almost felt part of the staff as they were so welcoming ! They food was delicious, well cooked , home made and a very generous portion. Check out was also very easy. We also got a parking space for free on site however the car park is very small , but there is a paid carpark literally over the road so parking is not an issue. I really do recommend this place.

   Visited for early evening meal after finishing trading on a market stall for the day. Had a lovely turkey and ham hock pie which definitely seemed home made, stuffed with filling and the lashings of extra gravy was delicious. Really friendly young waiting staff. Will definitely return.

   We ate here, we didn't stay here, hence no stars for room. We had a neal on my birthday and it was lovely. I had ribeye steak cooked perfectly with Eton Mess fir afters. My husband had sausage and mash followed by sticky toffee pudding. We had NO complaints.

   Great place to stay, central to everything and only a short walk to the racecourse. Friendly efficient staff, Michael in particular was very good. Nice room, clean and comfortable. Some noise from people outside the pub, but not too bad. Very good food including breakfast, nice choices. Would happily stay here again.

   I stayed at The Titled Wig with my partner on the night before my birthday. We had a wonderful evening there. The venue is really cosy and welcoming and the food was really good too. Our room was lovely and comfortable and incredibly clean, we loved it. The staff at this venue are amazing! They were friendly and helpful and attentive and could not do enough for us. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We would definitely stay at The Tilted Wig again. Thank you to everyone there!

   Just had a great meal at The Tilted Wig. The food was top notch, well done chef. They clearly use a good butcher for their meat. We had a very warm welcome from the manager Chris and all the team did their job well and with a smile. 10 out of 10 for offering a great pub experience. Would definitely recommend and will come back again.

   Good pub food, reasonably priced. Nice range of drinks. I have eaten here several times for breakfast and lunch. Always very happy with food and service..Good solid food. It is tasty and made with care. And it does not cost as much as some of the local pubs across the way. The experience is of a very good standard so more than happy to recommend.

   The staff were very helpful: we were assisted to find a seat and table, with choice of food and bringing drinks. Neither of us went to the bar. I had 'rib eye pork on the bone', with chips and onion rings. I must absolutely say that I really enjoyed all of it, especially the meat. It was superb! The table was clean from the start. For drinks, I had two pints of an amber coloured real ale, which were satisfactory.
