Our daughter joined a year ago and absolutely loves it! We saw a show last week and it was fantastic. The kids learnt it all in a 12 week period - was amazing. Andy is great as are all the team - it’s a really wholesome place with a great atmosphere and they really look after the kids. Highly recommended!
My Daughter has been attending basics for approximately a year now. We have seen such a change in her confidence. She is currently in 'little stars' and I would highly recommend! The holiday club over summer is also fantastic. It is difficult to find places my daughter enjoys and this ticks the boxes. She has really come out of her shell this summer and it has been wonderful to see. Thankyou Basics!
I couldn't recommend this theatre school highly enough. From the initial contact with them, they have been an absolute pleasure. The staff at Basics is professional, kind and super supportive. The performances they produce are outstanding and they truly empower their students to flourish. Basics has been a very strong thread in my girl's lives. Taking one very shy, introverted and quite unhappy girl and opening her up beautifully in confidence and self belief and the other, catapulting her on her way to pursuing a place at a musical theatre school. Basics has a fantastic, supportive culture in taking the individually unique out of a kid and positively showcasing it.
Our little girl Sofia was excited every Tuesday night, because that's the night she is at basics.. Tonight was the big night.. so much enthusiasm and such a professional performance of Mary Poppins.. Andy has amazing talent in bringing the best out of the little performers.. Sofia has grown in confidence tremendously and has learnt how to express herself more freely..They are given the power to believe in themselves... that is something that gives them a free spirited approach to life, and is an important attribute that will stand them in good stead in whatever they do going forward.. Thanks once again to the staff and in particular to Andy for doing this. We are grateful
I went to Basics for a good few years of my life and have now left with the fondest memories of friends and shows across the years. From the word go, Basics helped me develop as a person, not only as a performer but as someone who feels comfortable communicating, entertaining and empathising with those around me. I hold very dearly the people that were with me along my journey and couldn’t recommend Basics highly enough. I couldn’t thank the core team more, with special thanks to Andy and Justine Cooke, who on top of being the principals of Basics, were (and are!) great influences in my life. Andrew and Helen, the MD and Choreographer, have great skill and take care in teaching and caring for all Basics students, so to them I show much appreciation also. I would thoroughly recommend joining, or at least watch their shows!
