My experience with Medivet (Enfield 24 Hour Hospital) was alarming and exposed serious deficiencies in the standard of care, communication, and clinical governance expected of a 24-hour emergency veterinary provider. My dog was admitted as an emergency with serious breathing difficulties. Despite this, he was sedated, muzzled, and left confined in a cage for several hours while other patients were prioritised. He is an extremely anxious dog, which I made the practice fully aware of prior to leaving him in their care. Had I been told he would be left sedated and caged for hours while other cases were prioritised, I would never have consented to leaving him there. Emergency admission should mean active monitoring and clinical prioritisation, not prolonged distress. This reflects a model of profit over care. What followed was an unacceptable breakdown in communication regarding the BAL results, for which I paid a significant premium. I was explicitly advised that these urgent results would be returned within three days and paid an additional expedited fee on that basis. This did not happen. Over several days, while my dog was deteriorating, I repeatedly chased the practice in writing and received no response. I was given conflicting and inaccurate information about the status of the results, including being told they had not been received and were still pending, only to later be informed that they had in fact been completed days earlier. This contradiction was never properly explained and directly delayed ongoing treatment, despite my actual vet actively waiting for the information. The only reason I agreed to proceed with this testing, rather than wait and take my dog to my regular vet the following day, was the explicit reassurance that the results would be returned within three days. That assurance was not honoured, despite the additional fee charged. Medivet has since issued a generic apology for βpoor communication,β yet has failed to address any of the substantive concerns raised, accept accountability for demonstrably poor practice, or provide a meaningful explanation for the clinical and operational failures involved. Vague reassurances that βpatient welfare is a priorityβ are not credible when set against the reality of what occurred. Leaving an emergency patient sedated, muzzled, and confined in a cage for several hours while other patients were prioritised cannot reasonably be described as prioritising welfare. The gap between Medivetβs stated standards and its actual conduct in this case is stark and deeply concerning. This was premium-priced emergency care costing close to Β£3,000, delivered in a way that raises serious questions about clinical governance, patient welfare, and professional accountability. Due to their complete lack of accountability, this matter is now being escalated to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. I would strongly caution anyone considering this practice, particularly those with anxious or critically unwell animals.

The out of hour Vet in Enfield was amazing, we can not talk enough for the care she offered, she did and excellent job. People like her are so few with such high empathy level and kindness. She was from the start to end a brilliant vet and her care and dedication were beyond expectations. I really recommend her and she really deserves an award for all her great work. I appreciate everything you did and I am so grateful for having the chance to meet such kind and amazing Dr. All the best in your future career and the boss of the surgery should definitely get you a reward for your hard work and support. We unfortunately had to take our boy Frankie to an emergency appointment last night where we sadly had to say goodbye to him. The team were honestly absolutely amazing, kind and caring. Our vet lead us through every step with caution, understanding and patience. I cannot express how thankful I am to how you all treated us through out the process and for the care and instant love you gave to our boy. Thank you all so much.

A 24-hour veterinary hospital situated on a busy road, which due to the virtually unused cycle lanes, has no parking spaces near to the hospital. There are a very few parking spaces available at the front of the building, but it is first come, first served! I take all my dogs there, and I'm very comfortable with the care they receive.

Rude, heartless, uncaring two members of staff there! I will be taking this up on Monday with the managers. Calls were recorded and if anyone heard then theyβd be shocked in the manner they spoke to someone that was asking for advice! Just to be told weβll come in then to the appointment. I was worried about moving my cat and stressing her more than necessary! The two had no regard at all. Shameful and sad.

The team at Enfield and Potters Bar saved our dogβs life this weekend when she needed emergency surgery for pyometra. The quality of care is amazing from all the staff who clearly go above and beyond. We are forever grateful.

On my first appointment I was literally 2 minutes late, I gave them a call to inform them and they refused to see my pet. I went anyway, they ended up making me wait 15 mins to be seen, they're always making customers wait so I don't understand why they tried to refuse me. I was also misinformed regarding payment. I explained that I had insurance and they still took payment on the day, I then reminded them of the claim and they said it was too late and they couldn't help me. Knowing I was new to owning a pet they could've been more attentive. I then applied myself, a form was sent out to the vet to complete, which has not been done. I called to remind them, a man named Charlie answered the phone told me there was one email saying the claim was cancelled and was being extremely arrogant, then he hung up. I called back to speak to a lady called Dawn who was very helpful, explained that there was 4 emails from the insurance, proving that Charlie hadn't checked properly, as I suggested to him on the phone. 5 stars for Dawn. Charlie, your telephone etiquette needs major improvement.
