We love sending our little one here, the team are so thoughtful and caring. Our bean runs straight in the door every time. They are always up to something, she all ways comes home with the evidence of it but that's what we love about it kids and staff getting stuck in and sometimes that means getting messy. The baby room team are ace.

Wonderful bilingual nursery. Not only is the building and the toys and equipment lovely, but the staff are great. There is a lot of focus on staff development and continuing to keep up with the latest research in child development it seems, and they are so encouraging of babies to find their own way. They are caring and careful, but allow children freedom to grow. My baby loves it and is so comfortable with the staff. He eats really well and gets regular assessments and observations which are recorded in the app. The staff communicate plenty and are happy to answer all your questions, but they are also not trigger happy about sending a child home if they have a cold or are teething. It's exactly the right balance. I honestly haven't got a bad word to say about y Pelican. Wonderful staff, wonderful environment, wonderful food, wonderful ethos. I can't recommend it highly enough if you're thinking about sending your child there.

I've had the pleasure of sending both my children to Y Pelican and they have thrived in this wonderful setting. Such a fantastic ethos with a real focus on learning through play. Amazing homemade food is provided. For pre-school children they also offer a wrap around service to the nearby Welsh language primary school Ysgol Y Berllan Deg, which is a huge help.

I cannot speak highly enough of Meithrinfa y Pelican. After an unsettling experience at another nearby nursery, my one year old now absolutely loves her time at Pelican. The girls in the baby room are wonderful - special mentions to Katie, Mali and Baraa. They are so caring, friendly, down to earth and even manage to get my daughter to have nice long naps - something I fail to do at home! The food is lovely there too, with my daughter often having double helpings. What really sets it apart from the rest is the focus on learning through play. Adopters of 'the curiosity approach', children are free to play as they wish, using normal household items, both indoors and outdoors. This has really encouraged my daughter to play independently at home, and be much more aware of how things work in the home environment. I am so happy to have found Pelican, and will be really sad when she has to leave to go to school! Da iawn.

Our little one joined in Jan 24, the first six weeks were tough with tears on drop off and pick ups but the baby room team were amazing in getting her settled in and now its a case of no looking back on the way in and not wanting to leave at pick up time. The ethos of Y Pelican aligns with our own has been such a great fit. The stay and play days gave us a great chance at seeing how our little one spends her time and interacts with other children and the environment, having time with the key worker to provide updates on her development. The staff are fantastic and caring forming close bonds with the child. I cannot recommend Y Pelican highly enough, theres a real family feel to the nursery and it doesnt matter which staff member you interact with they all seem to have managed to form a trusting bond with our little one. Our little one loves her nursery, she gets excited to go and doesnt want to leave. We have complete trust in the staff and the environment she is being raised in.

The staff are always very friendly and our child loves going to nursery. The food they serve is healthy, varied and interesting, sometimes I'm jealous of my child's lunch.

Choosing a nursery for your child is one of the toughest choices a parent can make. My husband and I looked at many of the nurseries in the area before discovering Y Pelican, which was just due to open. We visited the nursery and were really impressed with the staff, the premises, their vision and their ethos. They believe in wholesome, organic food, traditional toys and bilingual learning through the mediums of Welsh and English. At first I was a little daunted as I don't speak Welsh but staff always communicate with me in English and it's never been an issue so please don't let that put you off if you're a non Welsh speaker. The benefits of bilingualism are well documented and numerous. When my little girl is at Y Pelican I can relax in the knowledge that she is not only extremely well cared for, safe and happy but she is also benefiting from an organic diet of fresh, nutritious food and learning two languages. They offer wrap around care to Ysgol Y Berllen Deg and Marlborough Primary. I thoroughly recommend this nursery and have complete faith in their wonderful team of staff.
