Cardiff University in Wales is a highly respected institution known for its strong research reputation, vibrant student life, and excellent location in the heart of a lively capital city.
The School of Dentistry at Cardiff University has been one of the most disappointing and damaging experiences of my life. As an international student, I paid full fees in good faith, yet after only one term I was blocked from continuing my studies. Despite being denied access to teaching, I was still pressured to pay for the following term under the threat of visa cancellation. When I refused to pay for a service I could not receive, my visa was cancelled and I was forced to leave the UK. This has left me with severe stress, anxiety, and even depression. The so-called "student support" is non-existent, communication is almost impossible, and no one takes real responsibility for the harm they cause. The Dentistry faculty, in particular, shows little care for student welfare — once they take your money, you are simply abandoned. If you are an international student, especially in Dentistry, please think twice before joining this university. You will be treated as a source of income, not as a human being.
I liked the external architecture and the green premises.
Started my masters here in September and having a great time so far. Cardiff is a great city and the staff here are very nice and helpful. I’m excited for the year to continue
A walk around the campus is a lovely way to while a few hours. Some of the architecture is gorgeous and there's a lovely little park in the middle of the main campus. Very close to the city centre yet very relaxed.
Apart from being very grubby, particularly the main building. I found the campus and it's students very friendly and positive. The Student Union is an excellent area with bar, function space and study pods.
My partner did his Engineering degree here and loved it. Cardiff is cold and windy, but has many nice areas and great shopping. The university itself was good (according to him) but the awards ceremony long!
