   Whilst this practice didn’t act for me [thankfully] they were acting for my freeholder with whom I was trying to extend a lease to complete a sale. The lease renewal took 23 weeks, and in my opinion would have been longer had I not on a number of occasions had to step in and contact a 3rd party who knew the freeholder requesting assistance to save the sale. I was sending emails and calling the office in frustration when my solicitors were advising they were getting no responses, and I never once got to speak with Anthony Jacobs, nor receive a single response to any email. Frustratingly many time when I rang I just got an answer machine, but when I did, I always received the same response – he’s out of the office and will get him to call you when he returns! Given I have a number of property sales, and 3 lease extensions ongoing, it gives me a great platform to judge the good and bad performers, and trust me, from my dealings, this practice is bottom of the list

   Engaged Anthony Jacobs to help with my house sale and transfer of the title deeds. Absolute debarcle , he charged £600 for doing nothing. 9 months down the line I almost lost my morgage offer. Always had a good excuse his assistants had left the company. He didn’t answer phone calls, sent numerous letters to the wrong address or to the wrong person. How we got through it I have no idea, it was down to the last 24hours. Best bit had further invoice presented for all the work that he says he completed. Absolutely unbelievable. So if you use this gentleman GOOD LUCK

   Avoid at all costs! Withheld proceeds from the sale of my mums property for 6 weeks, giving multiple reasons why he hadn’t paid it to us, hurt his leg, hurt his back, working from home etc.. I had to threaten legal action to force him to pay the family the money. Today we find out that he hasn’t paid the estate agent, despite already deducting the amount from the proceeds. His receptionist covered for him every time we rang, even lied on several occasions. I have lodged a complaint with the ombudsman and law society.

1. Aww bollocks then ★☆☆☆☆

   I gave him one star only because I had too, didn't once keep me informed how the case was proceeding never mind a letter or a phone call not even a email and even when I emailed them, they had the audacity to say they never received it. We all know lawyers exploit the uneducated and venerable and I'm afraid to say there was no change here.

   This solicitors is an absolute disgrace! Mr Jacobs was rude and obnoxious on the phone. I called asking why he hadn't transferred money from my house sale after more than a month after the date of completion. Still haven't received my money and he will not respond to phone calls/emails from my solicitor.

   Anthony Jacobs is an excellent, reasonably priced solicitor and he has acted for me more than once. I would certainly use his services again. The firm are extremely friendly (including Lily the dog) which makes an enormous difference when one is going through a stressful situation. Anthony is known locally for writing a very strong letter (when justified!) and glad to say, most recently, all was settled before it got to the small claims court.

   Having had experience of dealing with this firm regarding a freehold purchase where I was liable to pay the legal fees of the seller, in my opinion they are very expensive. If you are purchasing a freehold or extending the lease from a company called Busymost and they use this firm I would fully recommend asking for a written quote for their legal costs before you begin the process!
