   Action for Children (AFC) is an outstanding foster care charity. In particular AFC Fostering Wales, offers the foster parents and foster children, therapeutic care, training and support and this is where they stand out from the rest. Being a good foster parent does not mean having lots and lots of foster children. Being a good foster parent is about ‘stickability’, which means working in a therapeutic way to ensure that each young person feels safe and loved enough to want to stay as part of your family, who in turn goes on to fulfil their potential. AFC is more than a fostering agency, they are a Not for Profit Organisation, and this is so important when putting the needs of the young person at the forefront of everything they do. Foster parenting is fun. Oh yes there will be trying days - but when the child that walked into your home with their head bowed low, leaves as an adult with their head held high, then you have done your very best – with the help of AFC.
