   The food is basic but nice and at a reasonable price. The weekend entertainment is always to a good standard. The clientele can be a little rough, but it's a town centre pub. It can be very cold in the bar in the winter and warm in the summer due to having a plastic roof.

   Had a lovely meal off the Christmas menu, very tasty, nice and hot and plenty of it. Personal preference, I didn’t like the Brussels as they were cooked with leeks and celery, why spoil the beautiful brussel sprout ☹️. Service was great and staff very friendly. Highly recommend.

   Went with three friends today 20th December 2023 Meal was ok but the Jailhouse was freezing no heating on,complained that the toilet was dirty. There was only one member of staff working. Eventually the owner showed up and I expressed my thoughts to him only to receive the opolgise that the Jailhouse is a very cold building and during this exceptional cold weather the radiators could not cope. Sorry will not visit again.

   We visited as a group of 4 and everyone reported that their food was very nice, I had the cottage pie which was excellent. Decent prices, good beer, friendly staff.

   First time I've been here very clean food was delicious, a very big menu to choose from. Here's the BAD part I had when I went to the Jailhouse for some Food and have a few cold pints. Here we go, well I had to wait at the bar for 10 - 15 minutes, trying to get served, I was the only person at the bar, none of the girls could make eye contact with me, after 10 - 15 minutes trying to get served I had to wave my money at the girls to get there attention so I could be served. Other than poor service from the bar staff, The chef's cooking was 10/10, I'd highly recommend going for a meal.

   Was excited to visit here but was pretty disappointed. Lots of little things; There are drains outside; why would you not set up so the table was over the drain and not a chair (for people to fall down). Luckily I noticed this before sitting down. No baby changing. Outside eating and smoking. I am a smoker but have the courtesy not to smoke when people are eating on the next table. Some people don’t- unsure why a cafe or restaurant owner wouldn’t just have all food serving areas as non smoking. Good; basic. Had a toastie and could have done a much better job at home. Said it comes with salad. It’s a small garnish at best. And one that was dry and shrivelled. Menu isn’t great- very basic and printed in their word docs… you wouldn’t even know it was for there. Staff; the waitress did nothing but moan. About lack of salt and pepper. About lack of desert menus and about other staff/ chef. Went inside to pay for desert- I know it sounds lazy but everywhere else they bring out the card machine. I had to go in and when I went in the smell of damp from behind the bar was quite strong. Sorry- won’t be returning.
