I sought short-term therapy for anxiety, but my experience was disappointing. Despite being open about my struggles with bullying and its serious impact, the therapist was dismissive and condescending. She even questioned whether I was “ready” for therapy, which felt invalidating given the seriousness of my situation. They seemed to continuously make me feel inferior and invalidate my reasons for reaching out for help. They reluctantly offered me a reduced fee session as though this were an inconvenience even though their website claims this is something they offer for low income clients. Communicating with this therapist was very difficult. Her manner was very cold and uncaring and very superficial and un genuine. Any caring statements or statements of acknowledgement seemed insincere or surface-level (of which there weren't many). She seemed uninterested in working with me and made me feel as though I was a burden. For someone already struggling, this treatment was not only unhelpful but also damaging. It’s crucial for a therapist to provide a compassionate, open space, especially when someone is already vulnerable. Although online sessions were advertised, she refused to offer this option when I mentioned transportation issues, even though another reviewer had been offered this for similar reasons. She claimed she couldn’t work with me because I couldn’t drive, which seemed like a last-ditch excuse to avoid helping me. This felt like an ongoing attempt to push me away, despite my clear need for support. In her response to my review, the therapist claimed I wasn’t a good fit because she couldn’t meet my needs. However, this seems more like an excuse to avoid accountability for her behavior, rather than an honest reflection of the situation. Her refusal to accept feedback about her conduct suggests an unwillingness to grow or reflect, and her lack of honesty and professionalism throughout the process was concerning for someone in a helping profession.

I am so grateful that I stumbled across Alison, she has helped me enormously! Alison makes you feel like she is holding your hand through your journey and helps you shift your perspective on your personal challenges. I have just come out of approx. 5 months of sessions with Alison feeling lighter and with more love and forgiveness towards myself. I was/am a bit if a crier :) and so Alison didn't transition to the outdoor sessions until I was ready...I really enjoyed our sessions outside. If you are reading this and are currently struggling, please trust that you don't have to, try and be brave and speak to someone. Feel the feelings and talk, it is honestly transformative. 100% recommend Alison

What an epic therapist Alison is. I’ve had countless therapists throughout my years but none have made me feel more relaxed in my thoughts. As a person of colour moving to rural Scotland, I’d taken a lot of baggage with me. But after a year of therapy, I feel at home and take things in from new perspectives. Not just the negative ones ;) I was a bit sceptical about online therapy but it takes out the journey and stress of getting to your appointment on time. 100% recommend Alison and the bonus of living near her is that you get to have therapy whilst walking through nature. 100% recommend Alison, the most personable therapist I’ve ever had

I have had the pleasure of experiencing both a group and 1-2-1 nature wellbeing walk. Both were such lovely experiences and I left feeling so light, positive and energised. I learnt mindfulness skills and techniques which really help me to notice how i am feeling and help to slow down and relax. Alison is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide, she made the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
