   SHOCKING!!!! About a year ago the owner of Desford Dog Care placed a shock bark collar on my miniature Dachshund’s neck whilst in her care without my permission, which I thought was appalling. It really frightened my dog and made me very angry. I reported this incident to the Dog Warden as the owner had admitted to me that she had done this. Not only that, my dog was still wearing the shock collar when I came to collect him from his day care therefore, goodness knows how long he’d been subjected to this horrific abuse. I reported this incident to the Dog Warden who visited the owner and placed this unfortunate incident on the owners business file, which will always remain there (I did request that the DW informed me of her investigation). If only the owner had phoned me I would have come and collected my Dachshund therefore, this terrible incident wouldn’t have happened. My Dachshund suffered from reverse sneezing after this incident and had to be seen by the vet to ensure that he was okay. It was a really upsetting incident for both myself and my poor Dachshund. Not to mention the vet bills incurred by to make him feel better again. My Dachshund also became very anxious when I put his collar on when going for a walk and refused to wear his collar at home, as per normal. I would really think twice before taking your dog for doggy day care or boarding to Desford Dog Care. As unless you are actually there as a dog owner you don’t really know what the establishment is doing to your beloved pet. Very disappointing.

   Cannot recommend enough! Rachel is simply amazing. She came to help us out with our Cockapoo puppy who wasn't crate trained and very clingy. She explains things really well and everything she showed us is working. He is a much calmer and happier dog already a few weeks in and we feel set up to keep training him to be a well behaved dog.

   We've always had dogs and thought ourselves relative dog-care experst but the lab just would not behave on the lead. Constantly pulling and pulling. Eventually we brought what was a very nervous red fox lab to Rachel at Desford Dog Care and what happened next is the stuff of viral videos. Within two minutes she'd shown us exactly what we were doing wrong and I actually walked him home without a single issue. I wouldn't take our dogs anywhere else now - cannot recommend the Desford Dog Care team enough.
