Board and train stay Our dog Rocky a 20 month old labrador recently spent almost 2 weeks at Royvon (Merthyr Tydfil). Rocky had an amazing board and traini g stay and actually cried on leaving his trainer (Anna W) who was absolutely fantastic with Rocky and made excellent progress with him. Everyday we received updates both written and photos/ videos of his activities and training, this put our minds at ease. We would like to thank everyone at Royvon for looking after Rocky. We will definetly be making a further booking very, very soon. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Highly recommended

Our 5 year old boy Duke stayed here recently while we went on holiday for a week, Duke is a very anxious dog especially with strangers + other dogs. Richard was Dukes 121 + he sent us updates and photos regularly which made us enjoy our holidays a bit better, still couldn't wait to get back to our boy + since being home Duke has been really clingy as if he thinks we are leaving him again. Which we definitely won't be anytime soon.

I contacted Royvon a few months ago as I needed somewhere for my dog Ellie to stay while we were on holiday for two weeks at the start of August 2025. Ellie is a rescue dog and is nervous and reactive. I was booked in to take Ellie along for an hour to see if she would be ok, we met Richard in that hour and he said she would be fine. I was still unsure but I had read reviews for lots of places but Royvon stood out for me. We took Ellie for her two week stay a few weeks later and left her with Richard and colleagues. I was really nervous about leaving her, however my nerves were settled upon receiving daily reports including Photos on Ellies stay, yes for the first few days she struggled and her appetite dropped but within three days she was eating and settling in. I will definitely be using Royvon again and willingly recommend them to people.

I have written on my other email and I have seen royvons response. I can not reply so I will here. First thing caught my attention was that apparently we said our dog did not get along with our cats? This is NOT true as we said THEY DO get a long and i have photos and videos showing. Second, the vibration collar that we wanted to use for recall was just recommended by some people as she is deaf and we did some research and asking around saying that it most likely would be ok. They didn’t use it which is completely fine. Third, the toilet break points were questioned by a few friends and other dog owners we know as they close at 5pm and nothing is mentioned that dog get let out at 9pm Fourth, martini was indeed bathed but she has poop stuck to her matted fur (in picture), and her bed wasn’t washed or wasn’t washed well because you could smell pee on it and after we washed it you still can unfortunately. My issue is we paid so so much (1,400 pounds) and got a training we didn’t expect and we just want a refund or a partial refund. I was also told by many people as i have been walking martini that the way she is behaving is strange and weird and that has concerns raised. I am not saying a staff member has poorly treated her but something definitely happened that she did not enjoy for her to have a trauma response. I do not appreciate you lying and saying we told you guys that she doesn’t get along with our cats as she really does and there was no mention that she doesn’t get along. She tends to herd them but we gently redirect her to her toys if she is to energetic. We have sent an email and are expecting and await. I don't know why there had to be a need to respond to my other review if you apparently can’t look it all over. I shared our experience and to what we can see and what we have been told by others. We are not happy and it is very upsetting how we got a response. I have still seen multiple other 1 star reviews get similar messages back to other dog owners dating from 4-9 years back that we didn’t see also complain about similar things. Thank you for your response but we do not wish to be told that we stated that the dog doesn’t get along with our cats as they do. And yes she is still flinching heavily but we are working on it gently with others so that she is use to being touched again without flinching and cowering. Here are some photos of her with our cats before the training :) she got along with them perfectly fine. Today she has seemed to warm up to them but doesn’t like them in her personal space like she use to. Unfortunately i can not add videos of her behaviour before and after :(

Had a telephone interview with Anna regarding my puppy problems with mouthing. Very professional and knowledgeable. Helped me immensely. My puppy is now much calmer and wounds are healing nicely with no new ones. Would definitely recommend.

First time using kennels for my dogs and was nerve racking but they provided photos and video during their stay showing me just how happy they were. If ever need a hotel and local, highly recommend. I had quite an eventful week and were the most understanding to my situation.

Royvon shares pics on FB of your dog having playtime and walks, and seem happy to answer calls asking how your dog is doing. Both ideal for someone with a new dog and a bit of anxiety over leaving her somewhere overnight! You can pay extra for a mini bedroom rather than putting your dog in a kennel, which is very much worth the money IMO. Also the lady on reception is an absolute dream and our dog LOVES her and always wants to sit with her being fussed all day.
