   Avoid at all cost. Had 15 years of stress with this company having entered a SDLT scheme back in 2010. Dreadful communication and impossible to talk to anyone. The scheme has now lost the case with HMRC. All Cornerstone could do was the send out a simple email telling clients to contact HMRC and settle outstanding stamp duty and accrued interest! Haven’t replied to my email. The company should not be in business, still peddling SDLT schemes!

   I used Cornerstone Tax (CTA) for a Stamp Duty s heme in 2010. I was being advised by a Huzaifah Malik who stopped answering my emails a couple of months ago. I have since learnt, when I phoned up, that he has left the company. I have now called and emailed CTA several times, including the team leader Amy Mason twice, with no response- shocking service as I have HMRC chasing me

   Experienced a similar issue to the other negative reviews posted here (and it was managed by Cornerstone, not Goldstone!). The first we heard of Goldstone was the previously mentioned 'generic email sent on a Friday evening at 6pm'. It seems they've taken the full money owed to HMRC for themselves, entitling them as fees. Poor communication when actually needed, and false promises from the start.

   Very disappointed in the services received and the unprofessional approach to communication taken by Cornerstone. Would strongly recommend avoiding. Initially selling me a product that at best was already under investigation. Then choosing to with hold information about their discussions with HMRC that would have impacted my decision and saved me thousands of pounds in interest. Possibly the worst part of it all is informing me that their tax planning has been unsuccessful (5 years on!) via a generic email sent at 6pm on a Friday evening! I believe it is when things go wrong that a company has the opportunity to show its true colours and in this instance Cornerstone has shown itself to be cowardly, unprofessional and clearly only interested in taking their fee.

   DO NOT USE. I did in 2016 for sdlt planning and last week (April 2023) have been told by cornstone I now have to pay stamp duty plus interest to HMRC. I recommended then to 2 friends who in 2018 both bought houses using the same scheme, both have just had the same response. Cornerstone won’t refund the fees paid! Absolute disgrace

   I've delt with Mehmod on a couple of occasions now, the second one being around queries on inheritance tax. He was very knowledgable and highlighted the key things I needed to be aware of. He was always happy to explain in more detail anything I needed clarification on and responded promptly. I would highly recommend Cornerstone and Mehmod's services.

   Was a bit sceptical of having SLDT money refunded initially as the rules didn't seem to apply to us, but Cornerstone, especially Maria, has been very efficient and clear in communication throughout. Now having the money refunded in our account, definitely glad we proceeded! Will definitely recommend Cornerstone.

   I engaged Cornerstone Tax advisors in January 2021 to reclaim SDLT on a property I had purchased. Today I received confirmation my claim was a success and I will be refunded a substantial part of the SDLT (approx 60%) as a refund. So within 3 months Cornerston Tax secured the refund. I must praise Tommy Berdej who has done an amazing job for me. Professional and communicative all the way through the process. Thank you so much for making my day with this wonderful tax refund!
