Walked into Lanes about 2 weeks before we were due to get married to enquire about rings ... and they delivered! Two beautiful 18ct wedding rings for the big day tomorrow. They couldn't have been more charming, knowledgeable, well-connected (sourcing the rings) and professional. Six-star service.
I had the most amazing experience at the jewellery store today. From the moment we walked in looking for a wedding ring with a bespoke feature, we were made to feel completely at ease. Katie and Yasin were exceptional — their knowledge, patience, and genuine care stood out throughout the entire process. They took the time to educate me on every step, making sure I fully understood the value and craftsmanship behind each ring. What truly set them apart was their attentive, no-pressure approach. Rather than pushing for a sale, they listened carefully and guided us with kindness and expertise, making us feel confident that we were in exactly the right place. I’m disappointed to say I do not recommend lanes. I bought an eternity ring a number of years ago. And there is an issue with the rings channel. I left the ring with them to be looked at. At the time of dropping the ring off the member of staff adviced me there was no evidence of damage to the ring, and the ring was perfect round etc. After having my ring for over three weeks, I had to chase for an update, which isn’t great customer service. When I someone eventually called me back they said the issues were due to damage. I would therefore need to pay for it to be reset, which is the same price as the original ring!!!!…even though the cost of platinum is now significantly cheaper than it was when I bought the ring. A eternity ring is a piece of jewellery that should last a lifetime and this one hasn’t stood up to the test of time. I now wish I’d have bought the ring else where. Another independent jeweller has ask to see the ring after showing them the pics, she was puzzled by the issue stating she hadn’t see that before. I will be taking the ring into her for her opinion and my be pursing this another way based on her professional option. Update: Due to your response, the ring was bought as an eternity ring. An eternity ring is something you wear everyday. If you would describe that as heavy use then yes, but nothing more than everyday use. I don’t have a physical job and the engagement ring stuck out, so protected the eternity ring. Regarding your comment about not getting in touch during 2020/2021. Just to remind you we were in lock down, so unfortunately bringing the ring in wasn’t even an option. Then after I was diagnosed with cancer and have spent the last 2.5 going through treatment and am still much receiving regular treatment now. Your colleague in store was made fully aware of this fact. So I’m unsure why you are even questioning this, it’s insensitive and actually disrespectful to try and use that against me. So again bringing the ring in wasn’t really my priority at the time. Or an option due to having chemo and having a weak immune system. Surviving cancer and chemotherapy was my priority. So I stand by my review, it’s fair. I bought an eternity ring expecting it to last a life time and it hasn’t. Therefore, yes I’m disappointed, Would I buy from you again, No, absolutely not. I’ve been both disappointed with the quality of the product, but also the lack of customer service. It was pretty appalling, having to chase for updates, being told you’d call me back then you never bothered on two occasions.
Top quality products and second to none service (during & post-purchase). I purchased an engagement ring and 2x wedding bands from Lanes, and the attention to detail and customer-centric outlook was uncompromised throughout. I was served by Huseyin Varis and he was the perfect gentleman to me and my Husband . We seen a ring in the window and all I wanted to do was just try it on as it really caught my eye . He welcomed us both in and took the ring out for me to try on. He polished it up even for me to try it on and not once was he pushy he explained the clarity of the diamonds and what metal it was so that we really understood what we was looking at possibly buying. To me that’s everything , I find it really off putting when someone is pushy and that he definitely WASN’T . I said it might be a bit big and straight away he took another ring out of the window for me to try on just so I could compare the sizes . I felt very comfortable and the reason for this type of customer service is why we decide to purchase the ring from this store , he really is a credit to your store :) We was then joined by Laura who helped take our payment and once again fantastic customer service even when we picked the ring up it was packed AMAZING and our insurance documents was all sorted out . It’s rare that you hear about good customer service it’s always the bad that gets highlighted but with outstanding customer service from start to finish from this place it most certainly deserves praise . Laura was fantastic from start to finish ( she said yes by the way and absolutely loves the ring). From when I first went into the shop to the day I collected the ring Laura was available whenever I needed her (even when I thought I’d bought the wrong ring) and was able to answer any questions - I couldn’t fault anything and couldn’t recommend anyone to come here enough . I’ll see you in a year or so for our wedding bands! Luke
