Poor staff and life guards it was women ONLY swimming and there were 2 female life guards but instead of putting 2 female life guard they put a male on purpose and said “they were short of staff” some women don’t want men to be there lifeguards and us women were feeling very uncomfortable as the male lifeguards was just looking at us what a shame and when you call them via phone they never answer I have been on it for 30 minutes now and no answer and I know they aren’t busy…

Reviewing for swimming - other things you can do here may be different. Booking via the newport live website or calling them is always a nightmare, complex, and confusing. There seem to be very few swim sessions open for families at reasonable times. The pool is large and nice and has always been near empty when I visited, but they just seem to not care about letting people use it. I'd rather travel to a leisure centre in a nearby town like Risca or Caldicot than even try booking a session here. Makes me genuinely angry, as I assume they are heavily subsidised, yet they seem to errect barriers to making swimming accessible to all.

I go here every day they're open to make use of the excellent pool to swim, and also attend aqua aerobics classes 4 days a week. Both are a great way to get fit at your own pace and make friends/have fun while taking part!

The village is poorly sign posted. I drove around, in the dark, to find it. I eventually asked directions from a local person doing a sponsored walk in memory of her daughter. With her help I found my way. But why is it not clearly signed from the main road . Eventually finding the place there was a small, grey sign which was not easily visible. The facilities for the swim meet were excellent but spoiled by driving round an industrial estate for 25 minutes.

My daughter takes swimming lessons here every week. She loves it. Instructor is really friendly. Reception staff is good when we need to extend her membership. Great place overall.

The pool and facilities are very popular during the heatwave and it's worth booking a session from the website.

Can't really comment on much of what's provided here. I came simply for coffee! My daughter was cycling at the nearby velodrome and their catering facilities in that building are virtually non existent. I needed caffeine. And was pointed in this direction. There's heaps of free parking outside, though I walked there. The Starbucks serving point is tucked away in the inside beyond reception. The staff were great: quick, friendly and competent. I got what I needed. A flat white. And could have sat in the huge seating area. But iheaded back to the velodrome. All around us there was activity. I enjoyed seeing the junior tennis practice on the inside courts through the windows. It kept the noise to a minimum but also provided entertainment. We'll be back to the velodrome, of that I have little doubt. And equally undoubtedly, this won't have been the last flat white I purchase from this venue!
