Planning for retirement can be a difficult process but this was made easy with the professionalism and seriousness provided by Wingate Financial Planning. Once again, thank you to everyone involved in getting me to where I needed to be...with a retirement plan that fully meets my needs.
Though a personal recommendation, we embarked on a journey with Wingate to advise us on future financial planning. We were very disenchanted with our experience. We felt pressured to progress from an Enlightenment Report to a Navigation Report. Had we been verbally warned that progression to this stage would involve a substantial liability whether we used it or not, we would not have continued. As a result of changed circumstances (serious illness) we did not want to progress with their plan but still had to pay a substantial amount. If you are not familiar with using an online portal for such important decision making, I would advise extreme caution. Thank you for your reply and I confirm that we had no option but to reach an agreement because otherwise we would have been sued. It was a fait accompli. Therefore, I can assure you that, despite your offer remaining open to discuss the financial planning advice and recommendations, it would be the very last thing we would do and we will decline this offer because our confidence in Wingate was and has been totally eroded by your lack of verbal transparency. To explain this further. We offered, quite rightly, to pay for an Enlightened Report which was prepared for us but, because were were both ill and had other extraneous family issues, we were not made aware in the many verbal conversations between us that we would be completely liable when you rushed us through to the next stage whether we chose to accept your plan or not. I would therefore still stick to my advice that "If you are not familiar with using an online portal for such important decision making, I would advise extreme caution".
Wingate have managed my financial affairs for many years. They are very user friendly and it is so reassuring to know they are extremely knowledgeable and totally £trustworthy!!
