Laura and Louise assessed both my parents after I contacted them to ask for assessment of their mobility issues. My parents found the experience very positive and appreciated the care and thoughtfulness and thoroughness of their work. Communication was great throughout, and they gave a very detailed and considered set of recommendations and advice, as regards both exercises, and tools and home adjustments.
Louise and Laura both came to my home. I was somewhat housebound as I had fractured my ankle. As a result of having home visit I learnt how to use my crutches to get up and down the six stairs which take me from my flat to the building exit door. What a relief that was. I was going slightly mad feeling I had no way out except when I went to southmead with the ambulance service who carried me down the stairs. Both Louise and Laura were informative and I am very glad I made the decision to contact Bristol Home Therapists. Subsequent to their visit they managed to get Home Care to install Grab rails in my bathroom which allowed me to get into my bath and have a shower which I hadnt been able to do previousy. Both Laura and Louise are fantastic. They come to visit my mum in a carehome and I can't thank them enough. They have helped with sorting a new chair, strechthes to show the care staff and lots of other little things to make my mum as comfortable as possible. Laura and Louise visited our 92 year old mothers house to assess ways how her mobility around the home could be improved to help her live an independent life. With their comprehensive experience over years in the NHS they are able to suggest many ways the lay person would not be aware of. As a novice Googling appliances on the internet that may not be bespoke was not an option. These two professionals put the patient first and are meticulous in their analysis of the situation with inspirational ideas how exercise, posture, & mobility aids are best suited to the individual. The cost is very competitive and worth every penny. I would highly recommend to contact them.
I have no hesitation in recommending Bristol Home Therapists. My 93 year old father experienced a stroke in 2020. This left him with very little use of his left arm and leg. Laura and Louise have been providing him with therapy in his Bristol care home on a twice weekly basis since September 2021. During this time we have seen a real improvement in his condition.Their input enabled him to increase the use of his left hand. They have been able to advise and assist with positioning. Whereas he previously wanted to remain in his bed he is now comfortable spending longer in a recliner chair and sitting in his wheelchair. My father really looks forward to the therapy sessions and has asked me to report that he finds them very beneficial. Laura and Louise are skilled in their engagement and able to motivate my father to persist with the exercises and to recognise the improvement he is making. My brothers and I feel that in the last few months my father has become much more alert and animated –some of this is clearly attributable to Laura and Louise’s skilled intervention
I was so glad to find Bristol Home Therapists, having been badly let down by the NHS physiotherapy team. Laura and Louise quickly assessed my situation and got me going. The waiting list for my mother to see an NHS physiotherapist or occupational therapist was so long I decided to book her an appointment with Bristol Home Therapists, after they were recommended to me. My mum and I could not have been happier with the service provided by Louise and Laura. They were very professional, empathetic and patient-centred. They completed a thorough assessment and were able to advise on appropriate aids that could help my mum remain independent. Worth every penny!
