High rates for borrowers who are often vulnerable and a poor deal for savers. Even offer a debit card which charges for transactions. They may fool themselves that they are fighting the system or something but the truth is different, The financially excluded and desperate need better than this.

treated like a second class citizen, i know its voluntary work, but if they don't like the job , why do it, a i was told by the first gentleman i spoke to that it was quite alright to go to portishead office when i explained my o.c.d. but the woman i saw before christmas , dressed me down like a child and told me i couldn't go there, thinks she must work there just to feel power, well thats how i felt
This is a small credit union, supported primarily by volunteers, and therefore do not offer a 'high street bank' experience. But even so, what they do offer is personal attention and support. I highly recommend them as a way to support yourself while supporting the community.
Rang the office yesterday to rejoin as was a member for two years the man I spoke to really could not be bothered promised to call me after one but of course he didn't because the office closes at one. Need to get staff who know how to deal with customers
These guys are amazing, kind and caring. When I first approached them many years ago I had recently split with my partner, I was getting bills that were his, West country sorted that and allowed me a loan to get the things I needed.
