   After investing nearly one hour on a call with tax advisor Parag Patel, clearly explaining our requirements and promptly providing the requested documentation for a fee estimate, we were surprised and disappointed to receive no response. Despite following up on the query twice via phone, there was still no reply. To our dismay, after 1.5 months, we finally received an email stating that they do not handle auditing services. This was perplexing as our initial conversation with Parag explicitly clarified that auditing services were not required. Upon calling to seek clarification, I found myself in a frustrating situation when confronted by the Practice Manager, who asked about our needs as if they were unaware. I specifically inquired about existing solicitor clients, as we assumed they handled similar accounts, only to be told they had none. This entire experience reflects an appalling level of service. I caution others to be wary of investing time in conversations and providing requested documentation to this firm, as it appears you may encounter delays and ultimately receive no response.

   Jeff is far more than an accountant - he really is a great business advisor. He has a mug on his desk which says "I am a tax advisor, not a bloody magician", but I think he is too modest. He thinks outside the box, and looks for realistic solutions that deliver significant tax advantages to his clients. He thinks about what would benefit you in the long term, not just this year, and aside from considering VAT, Income Tax and Corporation Tax, he looks at putting in structures to mitigate IHT & CGT. As a Chartered Accountant myself (but not in General Practice), I'd recommend JLA to any SME business / owner. You can't go wrong with Jeff Lermer.
