   I had my graduation on the 29th of July and brought my traditional dress back with me from home to the UK. When I tried it on the day before, I realized it was far too loose and I didn’t have enough time to get it fixed anywhere. I went to Stitch and Clean hoping they could help, and the owners were incredibly kind and understanding. Even though it was such short notice and I needed it ready the next morning, they reassured me it would be done, and it was! The dress fit perfectly, and I received so many compliments on the day. I’m so grateful to them for saving my graduation. If anyone ever needs alterations or stitching done, I highly recommend this place, you won’t regret it!

   Would not recommend. I took my bridesmaid dress to Stitch and Clean for alterations. During the initial appointment, we agreed the hem would be taken up, the bust taken in slightly, and I was advised to add cups as I wouldn’t be wearing a bra. I followed their professional advice and paid £175 for the work. When I collected the dress, I was told to try it on at home and call if there were any problems. At home, I was shocked to find that the cups had been sewn into completely the wrong positions — one near my armpit, the other at an angle above my breast (as shown in photos). On top of that, the dress had been made around 2 inches tighter without my consent and no longer zipped up. I returned to the shop. Different staff were present this time. The seamstress immediately acknowledged the cups were in the wrong positions, the wrong size and removed them — but this left visible damage to the inside of the dress. While I was changing, I overheard staff trying to figure out “who did this?”, which did not inspire confidence. They did let the dress out slightly so it would fit again. When I spoke with the manager, I was offered just £20 in compensation. I explained that this didn’t reflect the stress, the damage to the dress, or the time I’ve spent returning to the shop. I was told the owner was away and would be in touch in two weeks. After two weeks passed with no contact, I called the shop again (15 June). I was told I’d be contacted the following Sunday (22 June). That call also never happened. I received an email moving things back another week — now asking me to return to the shop again on the 28th or 29th, despite the fact that none of this was my fault. The communication has been unprofessional, the service was poor, and the dress is now damaged. I’m left out of pocket and extremely frustrated. I cannot recommend this business at all.

   The service here is absolutely incredible. I had an impossible stain removed from a silk dress, a cotton jumpsuit taken up, and a very difficult dress alteration done (satin maxi that would show any stitch out of place needed several inches added to the waist and also taken off the bottom hem so a lot of creative problem solving was required!) Both were perfect. The service was kind, friendly and attentive all round, and I was also given really great advice for how to wear and style it (belt placement for example), which really made this a stand out experience. My partner also had the same attentiveness shown when he came in for a suit alteration, and style considerations were also a big part of the consultation as well as a perfect fit. His picture ended up in Rock and Roll Bride because of how great the suit was, and I’m not kidding that a lot of the look and cut was down to this conversation and the outstanding work. Would absolutely recommend.

   I had the best experience with my alteration! My dress needed lots of work and it needed to be done in a week. Renzo spent lots of time talking to me about how we can improve the fit of my dress. Between taking some length off the bottom, to adding cups and extra fabric to the dress, he did a phenomenal job. I’d recommend Stitch & Clean to anyone!

   I am thankful for the great work of Stitch and Clean to amend my wife’s dream wedding dress. It was really last minute when she needed to adjust the overall length, sleeves and replaced the bow with a beautiful line of buttons the tailor handpicked himself for the perfect look. Also the Taylor had the lovely idea to add a slit for the stunning shoes. The dress looks absolutely stunning. She is so happy everything was arranged in time and in high quality. She felt well advised and we would highly recommend the Taylor. Each fitting was so much fun because one can tell that the Taylor was totally into the details and enjoyed creating this fabulous dress. Many thanks

   Highly recommend this great local tailor's. Went in fairly last minute for suit adjustments for my wedding, and happily paid extra fee for quicker turnaround. My suit was a mess, but now it is looking sharp! Picking up some final adjustments tomorrow, which they were able to also accommodate. I was given lots of tips and tricks for how to properly tuck my shirt in (I've apparently been doing it wrong for years), how to sit down with a tighter fitting trouser, what colouring of different accessories would work best etc... Overall very pleased and would definitely recommend.

   Went to Stitch & Clean to get a dress altered, and they were able to fit me despite my very last-minute notice which was so helpful. Amazing service, I was even suggested shoes that would go nicely with the dress. Can't wait to see what it looks like!

   I took a pair of corduroy trousers which were a size too big to be tapered and have the waist taken in, they were fitted with excellent attention to detail. They were nicely finished previously and had a complex constructed waist so I had thought the alteration might lose some of the detail, but they came back exactly as I had bought them, except the fit which was great. Very quick service with easy communication.
