Great facilities here but, Xcel, you need to publicise your Christmas and New Year opening hours better. Google and Apple Maps both said you were open this evening till 9pm but you closed at 5pm. There was nothing posted about opening hours on the Places app or website.
Great facilities and very impressed, but please get your management team to ensure the Health suite is turned on this is the second sunday that we have turned up for a sauna at 7;30 and the saunas and steam rooms have not been turned on!! very frustrating, surely it should be seton a round and signed off.. spoiling fantastic facilities
Great looking updated gym and other areas. However, the majority of the staff here are terrible - rude, unhelpful, would rather be doing other things (so get a job somewhere else!?), unprofessional… they are often all gathered together chatting when people need help, and sometimes in the way near the doors!? The PT that did the induction for my son in the gym however is lovely (I’m sorry I don’t remember her name!)
Disappointed with Customer Service I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Xcel Leisure Centre today. My padlock was broken, and all my belongings were removed from my locker without any prior warning. I understand policies are in place, but the way this was handled was unacceptable. When I approached the manager, Jaime, to discuss the situation, she was rude and completely unhelpful. Instead of offering a reasonable solution or even basic customer service, I was met with dismissiveness. She refused to even give me a padlock just for the day to keep my staff safe and locked until I finished workout. So I had to risk and leave my staff unlocked. Spoke with other members of the gym and they told me there was no signs and reminders that they were going to do that as a result a replacement padlock was given to them but my case was totally different! And when I came back to the reception to mention that they told me they didn’t have to do that. A little courtesy and communication would have gone a long way. Very disappointing!! Also to mention my body serum oil was missing! I’ve been a loyal member, but this experience has made me reconsider. I hope the management improves how they handle these situations in the future.
Brought the kids to do a climbing wall taster session. Dave was fantastic and patient in training and working with them. Great experience and hope to be back soon!
I visit this place every week. Staffs are great. Place is always clean and there is plenty to do there. Free parking available and there is always space to park. Highly recommend.
Totally disappointed with the way they were unorganised with the swim club trials. My 2 kids tried for their swim club trials, my younger child was accepted on a trial basis but just after 1 attempt where the coach apparently thought him being out of pace boiled down to nerves, I was informed that he was not accepted anymore I just find that strange .. why would anyone play with a child's emotions like that Anyway, the trial acceptance should be explained, that it is only another test...so we do not toy with children's emotions
There is a big car park. I was at Sunday. Not too busy, the swimming was good. I used the sauna. The sauna door always dirthy. A bigger problem is that not even a hair dryer works, which is very bad in winter. I felt good overall, but my head is very cold.
It's a very nice leisure center and doesn't cost too much compared to other centres In the area . The Olympic pool is definitely a plus ,the soft playing areas for kids,the climbing walls.. The gym is a good size but there's very little space for bodyweight training .
Great facilities. We used the soft play which was clean and not so busy. The centre itself was quite lively with lots of families swimming or doing other sports. Great running track on site.
