We had an incredible stay at Daubeneys for 3 nights, Jim and Lou are the ideal hosts and the accommodation is a credit to them its spotless and for a listed building has the charm but also feels brand new. The Stables are stunning, very spacious with a comfy living room, kitchen that has everything you could need and a bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs is a huge bedroom with storage and places for suitcases which made a change from the compact hotel room we’d stayed in for the previous days. The village is lovely to walk around, and the location is accessible to many local sights. In a couple of days we visited Castle Combe, Corsham, Lacock village and Abbey, plus a garden tour of Highgrove which needs to be booked well in advance. Recommend them all. We also ate in the Quarryman pub, The Trouble House (by Highgrove) and The Northey Arms, again all we’re great. The old primary school on a Friday does a great value brekkie which is a must. An enjoyable few days and wish we could have stayed longer, but we’ll be back!

We stayed for a week in the Barn. Beautifully presented accommodation with thoughtful touches. Lovely village and ideally located for day trips into Wiltshire, Somerset and the Cotswolds. Jim and Louise were attentive hosts without being intrusive. Very relaxing stay.

Really lovely accommodation with friendly hosts and lots of little extra touches. Perfect for staying with our dog too. Great location in countryside village with beautiful walks but also the opportunity to explore Bath easily (20 min drive, and easy taxi)

The 2 bedroom barn we stayed in was beautifully equipped. One small problem noticed on day 2, but was quickly and successfully resolved by Louise and Jim, our hosts. Fresh crisp bed linen, a well equipped kitchen area, a smart TV so that you can log on to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, etc, for those quiet relaxing evenings in after exploring the local area. A local pub opposite for the odd refreshment and a meal if so desired. A fairly central location to allow you to visit local areas, ie, Bath with many attractions of beauty like the Roman Baths and other places of interest, Stonehenge and its reasonably new visitor centre that opened in 2013, Bourton-on-the-Water, along with its car and toy museum and model village of the village, (as well as a model of the model village inside the model of the model village), Noahs Ark Zoo Farm, and other places too.

Unfortunately the heating needs attention and because there is alot of glass it becomes like a green house so very hot. Owners realise something must be done to make it more comfortable. Otherwise it is all very nice.

Just stayed here for 5 days and what a lovely place to stay. Melanie and Ian are very welcoming and on hand should you need anything. Well equipped cottage, like a home from home. A walk through the village lends itself to some fantastic views and you can see other villages for miles. Bath city centre is only 15 minutes drive away and we visited 4 days out of the 5 as it was easy to get to by car. Plenty of car parks. Charlotte Car park was the biggest we found and a long stay car park. Would reccomend this cottage to others. The guest book in the cottage is full of happy visitors prior to our stay.

The village is gorgeous as is the surrounding area, the walks are second to none and great if you have dogs. The cottage we had was beautiful and so accommodating to what you need when staying away, had all the mod-cons and was beautiful inside. The owners were very nice ,friendly, welcoming and on hand if you needed anything or directions to places to visit. Definitely a place we would recommend to anyone who was looking for a relaxing break away.
