   We enjoyed our meal at Uchi, having booked on the recommendation of a family member who knows how much we enjoy Japanese food. The restaurant is lovely, we sat upstairs near window and it was a great spot to enjoy the atmosphere. The staff were also fantastic, really friendly and attentive. There was a mishap involving a spilled drink on the table adjacent to us and the waitress handled it really well (so did the customer which was nice to see!). Food was good overall. Standouts were the sashimi plate and takoyaki. The only criticism and reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 is that some of the hot dishes arrived lukewarm and we had to rush to eat them (they were very tasty!). I expect the dishes were sitting for a while in the dumb waiter from the kitchen to the 1st floor. Overall very good, we will return.

   Food was nice and there was plenty of vegan and vegetarian option, the dishes did come out as and when are ready. The staff are lovely. The restaurant is kind of cold. Lots of cocktail choice. Is on the pricier side especially if you’re ordering a few dishes to share.

   This restaurant has got a lovely decor and atmosphere and the staff was really lovely! However…. The food was a huge disappointment. I ordered the Japanese potato salad which basically came as raw pieces of carrots and potatoes drowned in cheap mayonnaise. The makis were really average and the rice tasted like old rice (quite hard and dry). I rarely leave bad reviews but I honestly would not recommend and would definitely not be going back.

   We went for our second time recently, a year after the first time. The first time was OK, but this time the food was really great and tasty. Both times were on a Saturday for a late lunch. We took quite a few yakitori, including the aubergine, which was so good we took another one. Also had a fried rice to carb load. Great food, very fast. Not overly friendly but efficient. Good choice of sake too.

2. Nessi “Nessi” ★☆☆☆☆

   I popped in here for some lunch. The waitress wasn't particularly friendly and made me feel really rushed. Customer service and atmosphere at a low. The bento box I ordered was the most pathetic I have ever seen, tiniest portion and nothing special or authentic about the flavours. The restaurant is Chinese own with Chinese staff, so if you're looking for authenticity this is not the place. The food was mediocre at best. I wouldn't visit again or recommend

   Went to have dinner with my family. We each had a Bento box and thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. Friendly staff. Good value. We all agreed the shrimp tempura was the best!

   Great Japanese restaurant. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Service is excellent and sushi is fresh. They have vegan tuna and salmon options, first place I've tried it and it was interesting. So many sushi options that I have to go back and try the noodles. If you have room for snacks try the salt and pepper chips.

   A very poor experience. Having dined here before I thought the food was wonderful. Unfortunately tonight I have had to give it one star. If you dine in, you don't need to read this review as their food is fantastic. If you order for collection prepare to be very disappointed. Having phoned before 8pm we were told to call back. We did and the food order was accepted and we were told to collect at 8.45pm. Promptly collected at 8.45 we excitedly took it home and found the food to be cold and clearly out of the ovens for ages. Waste of time and could have cooked a M&S meal in the microwave. Very poor experience.
