Lovely walk by the river Darenth, great for dogs and kids as they can get into the water in many places or walk along the river. There is spacious field, great for ball games or picnic on the grass or by the river. There’s enough parking space with electric cars charging stations.
Free car park with about 30 spaces. Great walks along the muddy path next to the picturesque and very clear River Darent. Good for dogs, but use a lead if they go for a swim as the river is fast moving. Only a few badly maintained benches seats in the grass area, hence 4 stars. Allow about 1 hour to walk along the river and back to the car park. I visited on Saturday afternoon and it was not busy at all. Co-op shop around the corner if you want a snack. There is a public toilet next to the car park.
I never tire walking along the river path at different times of the year.
The Darent valley river walk is great with some fantastic views and well worth doing. Great bars and cafes along the way and just on your doorstep. Take in the natural world and give it a go.
Great walk, very green. Some of the walk is along the little river, fields, forests and also a little town. Also a great place to take your dog for a walk. Can be very muddy after some rain. Saw some horses and Emu's while walking the trail.
The shallow sections are perfect for wading through and dipping for small fish. Lovely walk along the bank too.
